I thought only amateurs like me hit the rev limiter, and was quite suprised to hear the limiter pressed into service, at the beginning of the clip.

I thought only amateurs like me hit the rev limiter, and was quite suprised to hear the limiter pressed into service, at the beginning of the clip.

He only hit the rev limiter because he broke traction and spun the wheels up in the wet. It's actually not bad to drive a race car off the rev limiter. That's what they are there for. On stretches where you would either be forced to short shift or hit the rev limiter, I always choose to hit the rev limiter... unless we are talking about an endurance event, then you short shift.
