V8 Exhaust note....yes i have searched the ENITRE forum :)

Hello everyone! i am now a proud owner of a 2012 4.2 and I must say I am IN LOVE with this car!! i wanted the V10, but I live in Washington DC and those extra 2 cylinders would have been wasted sitting in traffic each and everyday. This will come as no shock to you all, but the stock exhaust leaves much to be desired! If it wasnt for the B&O sound I would forget that I was behind the wheel of an R8 based on the stock exhaust note.

I moved to the R8 coming from a Ferrari 360 and 430 so you can say that I am used to the super car scream. I have heard the Milltek exhaust on the 4.2 and I wasnt a huge fan of the sound. I prefer the sound of higher pitch F1 inspired car and although this isnt a ferrari, would like to see if there are any exhausts out there that offer a higher pitch "scream" rather than a throaty "muscle car" roar.

I have searched the forum and found many sound bites on youtube and I am leaning towards the Stasis system. Anyone out there agree/disagree?

Again, I know this topic has been covered a million times but am really looking for you all tried-n-true input

I guess it would be Stasis System, a lot of people vouched for it in other threads.
Also don't forget to upload the pictures of your beautiful ride.
Any particular reason why you choose the 2012 against the coming up 2013 (now as 2014)?

well, I'm not sure I would call it a high pitched scream, but the Stasis I have gets a lot of compliments. Incredible sound on the downshifts.

I agree with going with Stasis, really liked it on my 2009 and think it probably sounded better than my 2012 V10 with Tubi

Go with the stasis. You won't be dissapointed.
Pricey, but absolutely great sounding, and no drone, none.
Transforms a lackluster stock exhaust into a monster.

Hopefully it sounds better in V8 R8 than it does in V8 RS5. I have heard it in V10 R8's and it sounded good so had my brother get it for his RS5, He likes the civilized sound of it but I was disappointed, to quiet, nothing like how great the Tubi's sounded when we both had RS4's

Go Stasis all the way if you want the best all around exhaust for the V8. I Have Stasis on my V8 and it sounds brutal.
