    V10 vs GT exhaust

    Hi guys,

Can anybody tell me if the standard V10 shares the same exhaust dimensions as the GT. I want to make a Ti system and need to know a few things for the design process. If anybody has the GT bore size and dimensions to hand that would be fabulous!

    TIA!

    re: V10 vs GT exhaust

Anybody know the difference between the GT and standard V10? Quicksilver said their system's don't fit

Or if anybody can list a selection of systems to fit the GT that would be perfect!!

    re: V10 vs GT exhaust

From what I have seen, the R8 GT has round exhaust outlets in the bumper as opposed to the oval ones found on the V8 or V10 models. I have not had an R8 GT apart here yet to take a look at the exhaust system, so this is as far as I can comment without speculating. The "facelift" 2014 cars appear to have the same circular exhaust outlet as the R8 GT.

I can tell you that the silencers for the standard V10 and the R8 GT are the same.
    Part no is 420251051J
This exhaust is for vehicles with engine codes CMPA and BUJ

The V10 Quicksilver will therefore fit the GT.
Quicksilver should have researched this themselves.

If you are interested in a Quicksilver system I can quote you a good discount.

I just had the Capristo installed in my R8 GT, and I had to order the GT specific version. My understanding is that for the most part everything is the same between V10 & GT, except the pipes are a bit longer on the GT. Better check with QuickSilver before making the plunge.

Made of 1.4828 (T309) stainless steel, the pipes of this system are slightly longer from the regular Audi R8 exhaust system (V8 & V10). It will only fit the Audi R8 V10 GT.

Thx dude. I have been looking at the Capristo system and the Powercraft system also. What I initially wanted was a fully Ti system but the car is not here in the UK for me to work from so that is a no go. I approached Quicksilver to commission them to manufacture a fully Ti system with valves but they didn't want to even entertain the notion saying "Valves are too expensive and hard to get hold of anyway so we wouldn't even bother" AWESOME customer service right there!

Will I'm actually very impressed with your system and it's a strong contender, any chance you can find out a little more info for me? If we can get your system to fit I would be happy with that!

    Re: V10 vs GT exhaust

If the GT and the regular V10 share almost the identical exhaust system, does anyone know why both sound very different stock?

    Re: V10 vs GT exhaust

They probably have different silencers with high flow cats but the same basic setup

    Re: V10 vs GT exhaust

Everyone- the GT and V10 exhausts are the same.

Part nos for the manifolds with primary cats are the same: 420251211E and 420251212 E
Part no for the rear silence with secondary cats is: 420251051J

Engine tuning is different. The air intake system is different, air fuel mixtures will be different, timing will be different, throttle map is going to be different....all of these will have an influence on exhaust tone.
