    V10 capristo v tubi v akrapovic?

I am about to pick my v10 R8 coup up in a weeks time but was pretty dissapointed in the noise so am going for a switchable exhaust, cant really decide from the you tube videos on which one to choose as listed in the thread title. Not really bothered about the cost just want the best sound. Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated. Would love to listen to them in real life before i choose but cant seem to find any one in the Durham (uk) area to show me the sounds.

    VERY Difficult question...!

    For me,
    F1: Kreissieg
    Muscle Car: Capristo

Personnaly, I bought an Akrapovic (middle sound, wireless switch, gorgeous carbon tips).

AWE is quite nice for a very low price (wired switch which I don't really care for)

I am tapering towards the capristo, think if i am getting a switched exhaust i might as well have one mode loud as and one quiet. Thanks for your opinion.

I fitted a AWE and love it..

Switched closed(I would call it the police around switch) is just a little above OEM which is great.. but if you gas it the valve opens automatically above 4500 revs and howls.

Switched on open is obviously loud for the whole rev range

Switch works perfect..easy install at dealer.

Next preference would be TUBI for me.

    Switch open clips..

I am in the process of upgrading to Capristo. There is no listing for a 4 valve version on their website, just the 2 valve. Can you tell me the difference in sound, price or other notable points so I don't make a mistake. I plan to place my order this coming week so I don't want to make the wrong decision.

    Thanks.

    Re: V10 capristo v tubi v akrapovic?

    Dave,

I think there is something that may be simply "lost in translation" here...

    The R8 V8 and the R8 V10 have 4 tips
    The R8 V10GT has only 2 tips.

As far as valves are concerned... our exhaust have 2 (two) valves... not 4.

I am enclosing 2 pictures for your review. If you have any doubts or concerns, feel free to call me directly and I'll be more than happy to answer them.

    Kind regards,

    Denis

    Denis,

really sorry but there was no translation error .. Please call Tony. Maybe you did not know but I was the first V10 with the 4 valves and 2 tips.

    Cheers

I had a competitive quote on a larini valved exhaust. Can't really find much on the noise on you tube though.

    Larini: sound very F1-biased.

There is a clip on Youtube somewhere... cannot access right now (from work...).
