I can hopefully help you here as we have installed a number of Milltek exhausts onto the R8.

Where the first system removes the secondary cat and replaces it with a silencer the third system has a secondary cat set in place instead of the silencer to help emissions, this is not needed in some countries, for example in the UK we don't need the secondary cats to legally pass emissions testing.

In my opinion the non resonated system sounds wonderful, it is not too loud but from the cabin though it is just perfect and outside just stunning. If i had one this is what i would install for sure.
