Long awaited video clip of Eisenmann’s Audi R8 exhaust system is here!

Eisenmann’s R8 exhaust system has so far been largely inaccessible to the US market- the well connected few have pre-ordered the exhaust and are eagerly waiting for the moment when they’ll be able to give their Audi supercar the sound it deserves, but most R8 owners hardly know Eisenmann’s exhaust system exists! Eisenmann is a manufacturer that has no shortage of experience with high end cars, being responsible for the sound of AMG cars, as well as the muscular tone that is the Mercedes McLaren supercar.

Please keep in mind that the center exit exhaust tip is a one-off tip design made exclusively for the owner of Eisenmann, and that the production model will come with the option to use either the R8's factory tips, or 2x135x75mm oval tips.

Sounds very much like the PPI. The huge bassy V8 roar, the "american muscle" sound. It probably sounds much better in person, but it's not the high european F1 kind of sound.

has quite a nasty sounding edge (in a good way!) - always useful to have the stock exhaust filmed with the same camera if possible too though, to get a baseline for audio reproduction.

That center Lambo style exhaust sure looks good in combination with the restyled bumper and diffuser. LOOKS really nice.The sound isn't right for me. My Miltek (no valves) makes a deep sound at low revs and screams well at high revs.

The car in the vid is stunning looking. I really like the gray offset. Almost like a negative of my car.

I agree w/Davey: the rear end, single outlet is quite good looking.

Sound? Not so much. Raspy and rough sounding. May very well be the camera used (as stated above).

One question (in regard to ALL aftermarket exhausts): Why must they all be LOUDER? Come on, we can make more HP and torque and NOT make the car louder, can't we?

Aftermarket companies (and OEM, for that matter) are quieting down motocross bikes at a rapid rate (my Husaberg's so quiet I can hear the chain, brakes, etc.), so don't tell me that places like PPI, Stasis and Eisenmann can't follow suit.

If someone would make a high flowing system that's equal to OEM in sound levels (not necessarily tone, though) and give me a 10 or more hp boost, I'd definitely consider it when I go talk to Nik @ VF. But to put a louder system on? Not a chance.

Kfab, you're completely correct, there's something to be said for an exhaust system that emits the same decibel reading as factory, but has a more rich and colorful tone! The Eisenmann Sport is designed for exactly this. We have installed a number of Sport exhaust systems on our client's cars, and they are all amazed by the sound difference between the Sport system and their OEM exhaust, even though the Spot system still retains full German TUV approval.

The Race exhaust is for those enthusiasts that really want an aggressive sound, but for people who want something a bit more subdued, the Sport is perfect.

Which system is in the video?

Do you have, or is there a possibility of getting sound bites of all three systems (OEM, Sport & Race) for the ability of comparison?

How about dyno results? Obviously the base line test needs to be done on the same car on the same dyno.

It would be great to do a stock run, Sport run and Race run and post results, if at all possible.

And may I ask what German TUV approval is? I would imagine something like our DOT (Department of Transportation) approvals, correct? Set limits and such...
