I must admit...the Miltek makes my car sound more American than European. I don't think the V 8 can get the sound (not too loud) I would prefer, with ANY exhaust system. Sounds rediculously AMERICAN.

    Milltek definitely better.

Quicksilver is very loud(105db)and not particularly appealing to me.Play the attached link on QUICKSILVER.

would have been nice to hear some external audio and comparisons to stock to rule out microphone issues, but if that is how it sounds in real life it's very harsh.

I've got the Stasis and it's flat-out awesome. I highly recommend it. Reasonable price, very good workmanship and sounds amazing.

Re: Millteck or Quicksilver Exhaust ??

don't buy Milltek for the R8....not because of the sound ( and i don't agree with Harrison, because it depend on the version ) but because of the quality and the way they deal with the customer after sale.

When I have sold my V8 i took the exhaust as it was sold stock.
I have picked up the car after it has been rebuild to stock ( except for the Software ) and had the impression the car did run better, even if the sound was gone......well....stock....

Next morning i have received a call from the guys which have replaced the exhaust back to stock ( they have been gone already when i picked up my car ) and they said that I might would like to have a look at what they have found.........ok next day lunch with the Audi boys......

they have showed me the exhaust and told me to pick it up from the floor and shake it......wow sounded like a samba shaker....like minimum 1 kg of Sand in the exhaust.....i asked them if it could be from the tracks etc......NO.....they asked me to have a look through the endoscope.......wow ......the intake was almost 30% blocked my something very strange looking.....they asked me for the permission to cut it open....YES let's open it was my answer.........

Well look at the pictures....the damping wool has melted and got hard as a rock but also stated blocking the intake......which was the reason i felt more power on the way home with the stock exhaust......they told me it could have killed my engine.

Also the finish of a stainless INOX Steel looks different from the outside then this......the exhaust is not exposed to any environmental things which could cause this look as it is well protected and i have never driven the V8 in the rain even.

Well Things can go wrong and I have informed MILLTEK . ( Maybe they had a bad delivery from a supplier, should not happen specially not with a company claiming ISO 9001 standards, which includes quality control )

Guess what not a word.....ever, not even to the distributor......

You might what to check your systems......since then Milltek has died for me .......

    greetings from Lugano

Hi Ti Mike, I can’t believe this, do you wish me to point this thread out to Milltek for you as I think you should be due compensation, it’s really making me think twice about ordering the Milltek system for the V10

Looks like a great reason to go with Stasis, Bought and installed through my dealer. If I have a problem they will take care of it.

Re: Millteck or Quicksilver Exhaust ??

the file has been already send by the Swiss importer, August 22nd ....he ( very very nice guy ) never received a answer...he feels a little ashamed....i have to say that all the other exhaust i do have from Milltek like the 997 Turbo, no issue....looks like stainless steel ect ....we have unmounted the exhaust ....nothing, perfect condition.

Rufund or what so ever ....i don;t care....they can keep their money, I would have been happy with a explaination......bad material received OK , made a mistake WELL NOBODY IS PERFECT or what so ever but no comm's at all.

Then the importer here in switzerland told me that they will un mount their exhaust as the car was sold ......and then they would check as well.......no answer......which might leave me with the idea that they might have had the same issue......because if not they could have got back to the distributor in switerland with a picture and tell him.....LOOK MY FRIEND WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WENT WRONG BUT OUR EXHAUST HAS NO PROBLEM.............but dead silent .....which again....gives me the idea , they had the same issues.

I forgot the R8 had 7500KM on the clock when it was sold.....not a lot after the 2 years.

I know I am just a single customer etc and they might not care, but i no bought all kind of other exhaust for my cars on future cars.....because i just don't like the attitude.

Thanks Colin for your suggestion but to put this up with the Milltek people but i am better of without their exhaust.

here you can here the Audi exhaust on the V10
