milltek exhaust or stasis? mumble mumble

hello everybody, i've learned a lot reading this forum and this is my first thread...well

I've got the 4.2 v8 one but the stock sound doesn't satisfies me so
im trying to choose between the milltek exhaust and the stasis exhaust, i actually like more the milltek non-res one but i've heard of some problems the milltek exhausts had on audi r8!
also i've read all threads related to the milltek exhaust on the forum
that's making me choose more for the stasis one, anyway i've no idea if the one i read was a isolated issue or not so any opionion is much appreciated

    ty!!

Ask Harry. He has the Milltek and has heard my STaSIS.

I had the non-res Milltek on my '09 4.2 R8 and loved it. It gave it a throaty big power sound without any droning at highway speeds or on long trips. I had motorcycles pull up beside me and compliment me on the sound.
I have the 5.2 on order and I'm planning on Milltek exhaust for it too. The Dealer insisted on wrapping the pipes with heat wrap. For them, the pipes came too close to the inner wheel liner and might melt. After the wrap, never had a problem.

Those are not the only two options too. Some people like the electronic valves of the Capriaro. There is also Tubi, Borla, PPI and others too.

I love the STaSIS. The first R8 I drove was the dealer's own V8 and had it installed. My original V8 order included the exhaust to be installed at the dealer before I was going to take delivery.

I ended up changing my order to the V10 and thought the stock exhaust was satisfactory. It certainly is but I was still missing a little more substance to the exhaust note. I ended up getting the STaSIS installed about a month ago and it is perfect! I highly recommend it (plus you won't have any warranty issues).

Re: milltek exhaust or stasis? mumble mumble

Big selling point to me for Stasis was that everything was done through my dealer including having my R8 tech taking apart my brand new car for install. Now if Tubi had been option back then decision would have been tougher, Had that in my Maserati and RS4 and loved it. Milltek was never an option, I saw some on RS4's and did not like sound or build quality nearly as much as my Tubi

I've had a Stasis exhaust on my V8 for a couple of months now. The sound does get better as you put some miles on it. It's a beautiful system and the workmanship is first class. I definitely recommend the Stasis system.

ty everybody for anywers.. i kept searching for videos of the exhausts and now seems like i will go for the tubi style

Actually i'm facing a tough decision between the milltek and the tubi right now, but i can't find a way to decide by only listening at online sounds... tubi anyway seems a lot more loud than milltek, or just a feeling?
