    Just installed Stasis Exhaust!

Ok, only had about 20mins in the car so far. He are my thoughts:

    1. Has anyone tried the Stasis exhaust with the R-Tronic? All I can say is WOW!! The crackling and popping between gear changes is INSANE!! OMG!

    2. Sound Level: On a scale of 1 to 10 and 10 is race car straight pipes, this is about a 6-7. So, if you want a quite exhaust. Forget it.

    3. Sound: WOW, does it sound f**ken great!! Tight sound that builds with the revs! Sounds exotic! Like you're driving another car!

    4. Drone: My exhaust does drone under 2800RPM even on light throttle. Droning goes away above 2800rpm. Keep the revs above 2800 with light throttle and the car is relatively quiet.

    5. Idling: Idling is a touch louder and deeeper! Not annoying or intrusive at all.

    6. Fitment: Top quality fitment, the boys did the full install in about 5 hours.

    7. Performance: Ok, my butt dyno feels the car is a bit lighter and snappier. But will reserve judgement for later. Doing some more driving tonight!

So far, I'm very happy with my choice! Sure, it's not for everyone, but I'm an enthusiast and it's suits me for now. Yeah, you gotta respect the throttle in the city and suburbs, but it's a small price to pay for a truly exotic sounding AUDI R8!!!!

Great to hear you love you it.
It really does transform the R8
I thought you became a convert when you came out to lakeside raceway to hear it at full song.
I am still overseas but am back next week.
Want to get the V10 Spyder on the track asap.
When's the next event on track buddy.

Is funny how quiet the stock exhaust is when you have an aftermarket on. I shut mine off and all the fun goes away!

Congrats! Stasis makes a great exhaust!

Ok, the car is transformed! The exhaust note is one of a kind!! Awesome! Mind blowing sound with the R-Tronic! Sounds like a Lambo mixed with F430 mixed with V8 SuperCar!!

It is definitely an exhaust best enjoyed at the track. It's a little crazy around town! :0

There is a noticeable performance improvement, the car feels alive! Will do dyno after all my mods are complete!

Congrats and it is great to hear how much you are enjoying yours. I think most owners agree that an aftermarket exhaust is the best mod to do for enhancing the enjoyment of the car. I absolutely love my STaSIS even though I initially thought the stock V10 was good enough.

    Re: Just installed Stasis Exhaust!

Is there no aftermarket exhaust that has no drone? I made the mistake of changing just the resonators on my C6 Corvette 4 years ago and hated the low rev drone. I'm leery of making that same mistake again (except this time costing many dollar$ more).

I'm considering disabling the stock exhaust valves so they are always open but read that it makes very little difference. Has anyone done that mod and is it worth the trouble?

Bz888,..welcome to the Dark Side! I love the STaSiS. The supercharger will also add quite a few more decibels to its wonderful music scale.

R8Spyderman, do a search for Desperado's good review of the Magnaflow exhaust.

I have heard Deserado's car with the Magnaflow. It has an EXCELLENT sound. Much more loud and alive than the OEM exhaust. And it did barely pass the "hearing it one block away," test. But no way is it as loud as the STaSiS. The sound is not as beautifully high pitched, but it does have a very excellent deeper sound. VERY easy to have a normal conversation inside when driving with the Magnaflow, and I noticed no drone. It is also not very difficult with the STaSiS, but you will always be aware that you are speaking over a louder engine sound.

As good as the Magnaflow sounds, I would not dream of swapping out the STaSiS for one. But I promise, you will certainly notice and smile at the great exhaust sound as Desperado drives by.

I'll first try disabling the exhaust valves so they are always open and see if that isn't sufficient. At least that's free and reversible if I don't like it whereas a new exhaust is costly and might still disappoint me by being too loud or not loud enough or having drone.

Question for those with Stasis exhaust, If it had a switch to make it quieter like some other have would you ever use it? I know even with my supercharger I never would. Love every second of listening to it.

It is really not difficult to keep the R8 with the STaSiS at lower RPM's and thus make the car very easy to all ears. Maybe if I did regular, long, highway trips with the R8, I would sometimes use such a valved function. As it is, I do know that STaSiS has absolutely NO plans on making such a valved exhaust. It has been well discussed with them, and it is not going to happen. If they did make one, I would NOT pay for such an upgrade, but then I also do not use my car as a daily driver.

Like I said, it is really not difficult to keep the R8 with the STaSiS at lower RPM's and keep the sound quite civilized.
