Just installed Stasis Exhaust on V8 First Impressions!

For those of you who are still on the fence about which exhaust to get here are my first impressions of the stasis exhaust on the V8.
First of all the exhaust sounds great! However at low RPM's the exhaust definitely has a drone. It is not ideal for the daily driver sitting in traffic as was the case when I picked it up from the dealer yesterday. The drone is exactly as others have put it under about 2800 RPM. The exhaust above that sounds absolutely amazing. It is low at low RPM but really opens itself at around 4000 to make a gallardo ferrari muscle V8 mix sound. One question I read somewhere on this forum that the exhaust needs about 1000 miles and the drone gets better at low RPM is there any truth to that?

I hope I shed some light on this crazy topic.

Okay so after driving the car for almost 1 week I can honestly say I have no regrets. The car sounds amazing. I drone at low RPM's doesn't bother me anymore. The sounds when flooring the car is absolutely amazing. I gave the car to both my brothers and neither one mentioned that the drone bothered them. With the R-tronic it is probably best to keep the sport button engaged that way the RPM's change higher thus eliminating alot of the lower drone. However I am very happy with my choice and would not have wanted anything else.

I have had the Stasis on my V8 for a few thousand miles.... The drone is unchanged from new....

Yeah, I sold mine. Great sound... Totally awesome.. Can't stand the drone below 2500RPM.

I'd be surprised if the drone goes away, its a design issue. Either its there or it's not

My R8 Stasis V8 was never a daily driver so it wasn't a big deal for me.

However at low speeds I use to drive around it by keeping the revs above 2800.

So instead of say being in 3rd gear I would be in second to be above the drone band..worked for me every time.

The glorious sound above 3000k more than compensated.

Same here, I have never noticed a drone since I don't think I am ever below 3k rpm, not great for gas mileage but the sound more than makes up for it.

You'll find most people with the MT won't have much of a problem with the drone. It's only the RT cars. This is due to the fact we can't vary the revs or clutch engagement when moving from stop. Which means the engine sits in the Drone Zone while the RT slips the clutch and gets the car moving...

I think if you had an MT you could just give it extra revs and pop the clutch thus minimising time in the Drone Zone!
