Stasis Tune - anyone know if I can pull the ECUs and send them in myself?

I've had to delay getting my car to my dealership for the Stasis tune because of the weather here on the east coast. My car has been in the shop where it is to get a full Satin Guard wrap. They have power back and will begin wrapping the car on monday, which means I'll probably have it back thursday. I have a drive next weekend as was wondering if I could pull the ECUs and send them to Stasis myself. It is a complex job to remove them?

I would not recommend you pulling them yourself, I can either make arrangements for you to drive to WV and have it done on location or connect you to the closest facility under the circumstances to have them pulled. Lets get you some more power!

Belive it or not we pulled them last night and they'll be in your hands tomorrow. My dealer picked them up today and sent them out. The key was finding the right depth in slotting the security bolts. The first few took a while but we had it down by the last one. My dealer will be doing all of the reinstallation and calibration.

Ever since 2012, as well as any recently ECU-upgraded Audi R8 from 2011 and prior, you can't use the OB2 cables to upgrade the ECU as far as I know. You need to actually remove the two ECUs and directly upgrade the software. Huge pain in the ass...

Sounds good! The big question mark is if the wrap will be finished in time to get the car back to the dealer for installation before my drive on sunday.

Crossing fingers, the dealers service dept is open on Saturday until 4pm if we need to help plan ahead.
