No worries. I plan on testing the bolt on setup really hard and going to take it to the Texas mile that way. Bring it back from there and sit down and analyze everything and then build everything out. Keep you all updated.

Top Speed is taking a few 1200hp plus cars to the Texas mile and is a sponsor. Should be a good time.

My goal is to crack 200 on just the bolt on kit. I want that **** T shirt saying I did it!! Any one know how much HP a R8 needs to crack the 200 in a mile?

700whp should be enough to crack the 200 mph barrier, I will be there, I can't wait to see it. I have always wanted to go to TX2K this is my first time going I will be bringing my GTR there.

It was my understanding that the R8 is gear-limited to its top speed of 195/196 - so I would think you would either have to change gears or over-rev it to crack 200, regardless of how much power you have.

I guess you could have the ECU lift any rpm restrictions, and maybe the overrev is by a small enough amount that it won't matter.

Seems if all the other gears can get to 8700 rpm, and 6th gear does 196 at 8400 rpm, then at 8700 rpm in 6th gear the speed should be exactly 203 mph.

My APR dealer says the ECU tune disables a computer-enforced limit in 6th gear. I assume a rev limiter would still operate, but we might want to be careful about that assumption.

Wonder why they would limit the car like that in 6th. Well I have a few reasons to as why but wonder if the car is safe to go 200 or more.... I have flown a few planes that dont need near that much speed to take off

I thnk the fastest I have gone was at a half mile event. I only hit mid 140s but I kept the gas down after the finish line. I think I got up to maybe 170s. But yeah the car felt fine.

yeah its fine at 186mph on the autobahn. The driver tends to be the part that lets it down its pretty blury at those speeds
