ALPHA Performance 900HP Twin Turbo kit Release - R8 Talk's Achan gets more power!

A little while ago we previewed our upcoming R8 performance package consisting primarily of our new twin turbo system. Well the wait is now over and we are releasing this new package to the R8 V10 community.


It's no secret to any R8 owner that the R8 V10 is one of the nicest examples of a performance car ever built. Here at ALPHA performance we strive to not only improve the car but to enhance it. Our team of engineers set to work on creating what we feel is the most well rounded and best engineered twin turbo system to date. We wanted to create a system that looked, fit and performed like an OEM component.




In addition to rock solid driveability we were able to increase crank horsepower to over 900 (812whp in AWD mode on our Dynojet) All this is done with no sacrifice in the way the car drives or at any cost to your creature comforts.




Below are some dyno charts. The first shows the wheel hp and torque as measured on our Dynojet AWD 424x Dynamometer. Unlike many shops this was done in AWD mode, not RWD which makes these numbers that much more impressive. The second graph compares a stock R8 to one equipped with our new twin turbo performance package.

The Kit installed should be about $39,000. This would be installed and tuned here at AMS Performance. Being that you are in Abu Dhabi you would want to contact our very good dealer in dubai by the name of Alpha Logic Performance. Ali over there will take excellent care of you and your car and his team of technicians will service your car just the same as if it was here at AMS. Great timing! I was just looking up the R8 AMS package yesterday at work and was disappointed to see that I did not see any updates on this since Fall. Thanks for posting the dyno. I rarely check this board, however, since I am in the market for a new sportscar, a TT R8 is high on my list. Right up there with the 911 GT2, and 911 EVOMS GT750.

With that said, I am looking for something more dual purpose - possible DD and occasional track use.

Any plans to release any track videos? Curious to see how close to stock driveability levels your AMS kit will be. Additionally, I prefer to perform all my mods in my own shop. As such, is this sold as a kit or authorized-shop install only?

Thank you! We are going to be doing some standing 1/2 mile testing once the weather gets more favorable as well as 60-130.December in Chicago is kind to no car lol. As far as dual purpose there should be no reason why this can't be a car for all types of driving. The latest one we did locally drives it on almost a daily basis and loves it. He occasionally switches off between the 1000hp GT-R we built him but still manages to put a healthy number of miles on it. He is by no means easy on his cars either, he drives them as they should be driven....hard!

We will be letting ALPHA dealers sell and install this package but I am not sure about end users. I'm not saying its out of the question, we just want to make sure that you wont run into any challenges along the way. Getting you the car you paid for is the most important part of what we do.

What's done to the bottom End?

The motor remains stock at this stage of the build.

The turbo kit is capable of making much more power with more boost but that will require a built bottom end.

At the power levels shown above that is 7lbs of boost.

Very nice! Seems like you guys have truly unlocked the R8 ECU. I know everyone else has been having some serious issues with it. The power out put is amazing. If that was done on a RWD dyno what are you thinking? High 800s?

Get some vbox numbers when you can. Would love to see what it would trap in the quarter and 60 to 130.

I hate to speculate as far as AWD to RWD but I would think at least 850 on a RWD dyno.

I honestly think the core of our program outside of our outstanding engineers is our tuning department. Being able to do stock ECU tuning in house makes for such a better product. The man hours we have invested in breaking down all the files in the stock ECU is pretty intense but it has made for such a solid tune and a OEM like power delivery. They really do drive like stock when we are done with them.
