Supercharger - 560 HP !!!

I won't try to price the new supercharger, but I feel pretty confident in saying that it should be less than half of MTM's $60,000 USD price.

Also the numbers of boost and HP increases will be the last thing determined after all of the engine testing is completed. The testing starts at ridiculously low and safe boost levels, and then it all goes thru a number of lengthy set testing protocols before moving the test to a next slightly higher level. Each level is a long, time-consuming process that includes both dyno and driving tests.

You can look at numbers from other supercharged R8's and draw your own intelligent guesstimates to see the ball park numbers that we are playing in. Recently I learned of some really first class new design features going into this particular Audi R8 S/C system that will increase its looks, safety and performance. Great stuff!

These guys do NOT look at the results of other companies. They make every performance expectation and test starting at zero. They know that at the end of the day, its their company's good name that goes with their products. This company has earned a great reputation, and they have every intention to do that extra work and care to preserve their good name.

Can the stock R8 piston be machined down for a lower Comp. Ratio. I am guessing the R 8 piston is a beutiful little beast --very light=weight and strong. Who has a pic of a piston for us?

I think you are getting ahead of yourself talking about machining pistons down.......something you do not want to do (weaken the crown) especially if you are going to add forced induction.

Just wait and see what the results of all the R & D are of the companies investing the time and money into developing these kits before resorting to speculation.

I am not an advertiser on this board, so I will not include my company name. We are not the manufacturer producing the kit, but are working with them and have a lot of experience with the R8. Hopefully this caveat will prevent my post from being deleted. I just want to respond to some of the comments.

Backing up Bodhii, the price will be as much more attractive than the kits currently on the market and the power numbers are expected to be in the same ballpark. This will be done without modifications to the longblock and it will run on premium fuel. Due to the complexity of the system and desire to maintain the highest level of quality and reliability, installation will likely be included in the price.

We have lined up the first retail customer for this conversion and expect to have our own real-world performance numbers early in Q2. The manufacturer will likely have them well before that, as indicated. Baseline numbers have been recorded from several vehicles already and the progress is moving forward nicely. I drove a mule late last year and it is very impressive.

Super charged with the stock exhaust could be the stealthy,sleeper I'm gonna' rip it up with . IF MYR8 doesn't beat me to it. I have been giving the Whipple style blowers consideration.Possibly the dual supercharged set up would fit better than 1 large single. BDS (Blower drive systems) is the store that specializes in this stuff (nearby) .

how much u guys wanna bet its VF engineering, a little birdie told me that they already have a working production model and its producing around 560hp, the birdie also told me its gonna cost around 20-25,000 dollars compared to the comp. thats a steal.......so get it done already so I can buy mine :P
