    PPI R8 Stage I

PPI state with their exhaust, air flow kit and remap they achieve 460bhp, a 40bhp increase and a reduced 0-100km/h of 4.4s instead of 4.6s.

Has anyone done this and verified the power increase of that amount and reduced acceleration time?

Any idea if similar mods with exhaust, air flow kit and remap would yield similar results? Other manufacturers suggest less bhp for each individual mod than this would have.

im pretty sure im achieving similar power gains with my mods now, although this has'nt been verified. These include a miltek exhaust, APS custom remap and PPI filter kit, the car does seem faster although the improvement in sound is simple fantastic and well worth the money in itself.

    Sounds encouraging then.

I opted for the Stasis exhaust as i preferred the F1 type sound, APS are fitting it and will probably have their remap too. Just havent decided on either PPI air flow kit or EVOMS yet.

If i got similar power gains to the PPI Stage I i'd be v happy though!

number1 have you heard the miltek non-res exhaust?, when i got it installed it seemed the logical choice as it is audi approved and was intalled by my dealer through miltek UK. I hav'nt heard the statis in person yet, although im sure its going to sound great if the video clips out there are anything to go by.

Both the PPI and EVOM fiter kits seem very similar both in appearance and function, although in my honest opinion the PPI filter's look better, im planning to pop up to APS in the near future, could tie it in to when you get your exhaust installed if you want to have a closer look at the filters before you decide to buy.

I have only heard it on YouTube vids, no for real. Then again i havent heard any non stock R8 exhaust in real life unfortunately.

I didnt realise Milltek were approved Audi parts, Audi Southend is the nearest R8 service centre to me and when i spoke to them they said they dont fit any non stock R8 exhausts. I was keen to get an exhaust that doesnt "drone" when doing motorway driving etc and i heard the Milltek possibly can as it has the american muscle type sound over the Stasis higher pitched note.

Regarding the air flow kits, can you even see them once the air box lid is on again?

Thanks, would definitely like to see yours, trouble is i live about 2 hours away from APS and was ideally going to get the exhaust, filter and remap done in one go to save me coming back.

Did APS not fit your exhaust then as i thought they had? That was one of the reasons i decided to use them as it's pretty involved so didnt want someone "practising" taking the rear of my car apart if they hadn't done it many times before.

    Re: PPI R8 Stage I

My exhaust was fitted by milltek in derby, it was all organised by the derby audi dealer and was done before i took delivery of the car. Its probably a more deeper sound than the statis, i mainly do motorway driving in my car and above about 4000rpm it actually emits a fairly high pitch sound.

Thats correct once the cover is on you cant see the filters which is a real shame because they look great, i will hopefully upgrade to the PPI airbox cover soon that has clear windows to show the filters off.

Dont worry i know Ed and the guys at APS have fitted many aftermarket exhausts to the R8, they really know what they are doing....i wounld'nt trust anyone else with my car.
