Hennessey Twin Turbo

I haven't see any threads here about the Hennessey twin-turbo system for the R8. Hennessey tells me that $45k US will boost an '08-R8 to 700 HP.
Anyone at this forum done this? Sounds like a reasonable alternative to going V-10, but 700 sounds pretty insane.

ive never dealt with hennessey before but ive always heard bad things about them.....i would stay away and stick with the superchargers as they are proven and tested on the forums, plus pushing 700hp out of the R8 is alot.....alot of internals are gonna have to be changed and the tuning is a nightmare......its gonna run you waaaay over 45K.....your looking at close to 60k and a whole lot of downtime :P

I bought a stainless steel exhaust system and air intake from them for my Viper a while back. I also purchased some polished aluminium wheels from them too. My experiences were just fine and the performance upgrades make a big difference.

Obviously sending your car in to have twin turbos added or having the engine bored out is another matter all together. He has created some insane beasts for the Viper though.

He's in Texas I think? There's some pretty nasty flame wars online about him, google will find them as well as somewhere online is a public database of lawsuits in Texas, his company is in there an awful lot. I don't know what the status of the suits are, but it does make one want to undertake extra due diligence

Jerry Johnson said he had to file suit in Placer County Court in California to straighten out registration and engine computer problems on a Viper he bought from Hennessey. n Jon Belinkie said he loves the changes made to his Viper but had to sue in his home state of Maryland, then register the judgement in Texas, to recover overcharges Hennessey made on his American Express card.

I have a customer that shipped his R8 to TX for a supercharger last year and waited 6 months for... nothing. The car came to us and we wrapped it up w/o the supercharger. To say he wasn't happy is being polite...

This Hennessey fellow could try doing a little explaining...Or is that a threatening quote by Hennessey himself ?? 700 H.P. sounds FANTASTIC !!!! It is good to know we are safe behind our keyboards...most of you...I am usually riding shotgun while behind my laptop.(sometimes doing 100MPH ). I just love my broadband .
