    Thanks MNGOLFER !! For the track advice.

    Since you encountered some damage from track debris...I taped the heck out of my car for track day...mirrors,grill,lights,partial hood. Isn't it funny it takes longer to remove the painters tape than it does to apply it? Would'nt a nice full BRA be the best goodie for our R8s???? That's right I said B R A !!!!!! Not a training bra, or a sports bra, or a lacey, nighty, bra... but a FULL BRA , for travel and track days !!!! I was tracking yesterday (Buttonwillow) Hot on a P-car GT something...very fast.I was on his tail lap after lap pushing him 'till he finally made a mistake, he went off making a Mushroom cloud,I tried to avoid the dirt /rock/cloud and went off track on other side as well ,Making a DOUBLE MUSHROOM CLOUD,(Great for the spectators too!) When I was in the middle of the dark black cloud all I could think was KEEP THE CAR STRAIGHT-I DON"T WANT TO FLIP LIKE SO MANY OTHERS. I came out of the darkness and headed in the right direction and back on track-Thank God. I did'nt have time to thinkmy motto...Keep the shiney side up and the sticky side down -just thought "OH SH*T", and we both got back on track fully racing without missing a beat.This was awesome for me even though I got a bit dirty. If you 'wanna play you 'goTta pay!!! Who was that P-car driver...I'll find out.I think he is my Neighbors freind.They are P-car guys to the bone. |'?

    Leaving the track is my biggest nightmare. Did you have to come in for inspection by officials? That is mandatory with Audi club north America. This is a real safety issue and could save your life if something is bent or broken.

    I looked into having a full BRA made. The custom MFGer said at speeds above 100 MPH it would remove my paint in ten minutes every place it flapped. He said there is no way to make it so it would not flap everywhere. I also checked using 3M temporary film called Polymask. The technical person told me it would not stick at speeds above 60 mph. The only thing I have found to work is 3M painters tape. You need to find it in 6" or wider widths or it takes forever. I had to reapply it after each session, but it really protected my car. I used this in October. I did not use it in May. What a mistake in May.

    TRAcKSHIELD

    I think this is what you are looking for. Costs about $35 for each application.

    The Benefits of Using TrackShield

    * TrackShield can help protect your cars paint from stones, rubber chunks and other flying debris

    * TrackShield can protect your car from road tar and bugs that can attack your cars pristine finish.

    * Think of TrackShield as an industrial strength SaranWrap for vehicles. 100’ roll does 4-5 applications for track day events or road trips.

    * TrackShield is easy to apply
    * Sticks over a wrap
    * No solvents required
    * Works over 3M clear bras & other
    * materials

    * TrackShield is an inexpensive solution to potentially expensive problems

    I have had bras stay on till over 100 MPH (then I unsnapped her) joke. I have seen that wrap before. I use the wide painters tape when I can. I really like the wide BLACK tape too. I think I would use a Black vinyl bra like the old days.I have had half and full bras on my 911 p-cars.I even use mirror bras occasionally. I am thinking of a street bra ,I guess. It would have to be two piece so that I don't have to remove to get into trunk/under bonnet. I am thinking cosmetic, because any pics with the blue tape all over my car look terrible.Black tape not so bad,A thick vinyl black bra that stays on and doesn't flap would be great for me.I figure WE might as look god while we're kicking butt.I had a stone thrown up by the P-car go right through the tape friday.Mike at PROMOBILEAUTODETAIL...Hear me? I sent you an e-mail! And after a get off, usually you get black flagged so as to come in and inspect for damage.They just let us keep on 'truckin this time ! Last track day I was Yellow red flagged because of the little rubber scoops under rear were "danglin.I came in and told the track worker -No Worries.I'll have to get new ones.Which I did and they are still attatched.Thank God. \"/
