Does anyone have a PES Supercharger? If so how is the reliability? The overall cost is reasonable compared to the other SC's. And the HP ratings are the same.

The only reliability complaint I'm aware of for the R8 kit was some external coolant seepage. PES redesigned the manifold and went with a different intercooler core.
There are variances in the ecu tuning due to their technique, I feel that if you have your car custom tuned the result would be very good. I also think that considering the differences in cost this kit is a good option.
I spoke to PES in PA today and they were very helpful. According to them they have several sc r8's on the road with no problems. The system is putting out I believe they said 558hp. They went in depth explaining there sc they were also very reasonably priced. I have been really looking into this, being that I always modify all my cars. However, I feel once the sc encroaches 35k, it I may be more cost effective to purchase a used v10
The only real install that I have heard of, the R8 owner took it off after just a couple of months of use, and tried to sell it. There was some serious troubles. He was not impressed with it.
People from PES have come here before using fake personnas and made hi remakes about it, and then just disappeared completely. But I know of only one person who actually tried it on his R8. And he had no love for it.
Good luck!
That doesnt sound good, possibly thats why the cost is substantially less?![]()
You will always "get what you pay for" with performance related products. They have to factor R&D costs, manufacturing costs, customer support costs and potential warranty costs into the sale price.
With this in mind, if you want to save money you will most always have to accept some compromise. Just as important as the product, I think using someone that is experienced with this sort of mod to install it in your car and support it is equally important.
A good shop can be pro-active in making sure everything runs correctly.
