USA: ABT tuning V10 chip group buy

Thanks to Ti-Mike we have the opportunity to do a group buy with ABT for their chip upgrade. In essence, the chip upgrade removes the factory butterfly valve limiting programming that keeps the engine hp at 525. This programming raises output to the true 570-600 hp potential of the engine (depending on octane). The estimated price is around $1800 USD, but may be negotiable (standard cost is twice that). Please respond to this thread if you are interested so we make a case for ABT to do this.

Do you have to remove the ECU(s) and submit them to ABT for this? That could present some long downtime for the US customers...

Edit: Not trying to be Debbie downer here because I think this is a cool mod, but just want to make sure everyone is on the same page.

im more skeptical of this 600 hp estimate. I was under the impression Ti-Mike estimated this by his judgment.....and more likely to max get the 560 of the r8gt

did you check out the link? this is def brake hp- so in us hp perhaps about 570 hp. i have it on quite good word that the top potential of the engine with unchecked intake valve impedance and standard exhaust is 570-580 hp- as seen in the LP570 (and as will be proven in the soon to come LP 580-590 variant of some kind as the last iteration of the current gallardo). torque goes up 5-8% realistically and so the main effect of the tune is seen in the 60mph and over speeds. i myself am looking for actual independent test data and trap speeds or even a wheel dyno graph but am limited by what i can search in the english language. i am cross posting this over on RS6.com where there are some well connected people to see what i can verify. so far i don't doubt that both MTM and ABT chips yield at least 560 hp with the stock exhaust. octane also affects the final hp. with this mod the car should be able to produce a low 11 second 1/4 mile at well over 120 mph.

The potential offer is to have a key sent to us to download onto the ECU somehow, overnight the ECU, or have ABT send someone from Germany to one or multiple meeting locations to do it in person (this would work if there is a sufficient number of people in a certain location).

no chip has to be removed.

The engine has a standard power of 560 HP the GT is nothing else then Open R8V10.
on this you add 5% = 28HP min which is more then realistic....without the exhaust being changed......

I am merely speculating, but I would think that this may be an upgrade that can be done via a lap top.

My speculation on this comes from a recent conversation with Jason Heffner. He was telling me that APR does the tuning for his TT kit and as they do more cars, there will be more testing/tuning/programming done. As these programs are developed, they can be uploaded via a lap top into the car.

Specifics of how to upload, what program and cable may be needed are still a mystery to me, so I'm not sure how to go about it yet.

I would think that it may be a similar way for you guys to upgrade your V10s.

A side note to this may be that the OEM system may not be able to be flashed. Installing the ABT system may require a new, flashable memory (ECU).

After to talking to the guys at Remn they commented that you will not get 600 HP with just a ECU upgrade.

You need to open up the breathing to get to that number.
