Looking for a paper cone filter mfg

Like the title says, I'm looking for a manufacturer that makes paper cone shaped filters. - I've thrown this out bright and early this mornings hoping for some leads, as I've not started searching outright on my own.

The Heffner TT setup uses a gauze filtration system and I have issues with using gauze - too many years of being in the dirt. So, that said, I'm trying to find a direct paper replacement for the filters that come with the system. Anyone have any suggestions? (other than stick w/gauze)

Try Donaldson Company for paper air and oil filters. They are headquartered in Minneapolis. I have a friend from graduate school that works there. Let me know if you need some assistance.

Ah, good call. They make excellent filtration - often seen on desert vehicles.

My biggest issue will be finding a filter that's similar to the K&N style: hose clamp flange, tapered cone. From fuzzy memory I believe it's a 4" inlet and the cone's about 8-10" long.

Richard, this might be a little "over the top" but then, your car is a little over the top too!

If you're looking for the best oil filtration system and can find room to mount it on the firewall somewhere, check Oberg. They're the industry standard for racing oil filtration systems. Oberg spun off their aircraft oil filter products to ADC some time ago because of all the different FAA regulations (Bill might remember this) but they kept their racing applications.

Scott, I think he is asking about AIR filtration. In which case an oil bath air filter may be his best bet... Like old trucks/cars used to use. The best air filtration of the old days. Made of aluminium,and one filter for both turbos sounds like a feasable solution .

Ah, right. Well, if anyone's looking at oil filtration...

AFE does a lot of custom stuff and we have used them to replace wet filters with dry versions on different cars...

My friend is in air filter R&D. Just maybe, and I truly mean maybe, I could get him to make a lab prototype filter. It is unlikely this would move to a production product. Remember...Friend.
