Results R8 V10 MTM

I had a chance to test the car this afternoon using a Race Technology AX22.

Technique; rolling start at 40mph in 3rd, then WOT
Road; rough asphalt
Temp; 41F, 5C
Fuel; 93 octane
Tank; 3/4 full
Driver; 185 lbs, 84 kg
Shift from 3rd to 4th .4 sec.

60-120 9.2
60-130 12.1
80-120 6.7

100-200 10.0

Unfortunately I don't have before tune data.

Results are decent but not spectacular, has anyone else data to share?

*In the interest of obtaining the best results I am going to try starting in 2nd gear and hope what I gain in time offsets what I lose in shifting. Will post updates soon.

LAT- i don't have much of a reference point for your numbers, but if you recorded any such accel figures from those mph to mph sequences with your other cars it might add some perspective.

i am much more familiar with 0-60, 0-100, 0-120 mph data. perhaps you can obtain those numbers.

RXBG, I chose not to do 0-?? as it is hard on the driveline and can say more about the launch than the car.

In the C&D test you posted the cars performed 60-100 mph as follows;
Aston 5.0 sec
R8 V10 4.8
Ferrari 4.2
SLS 3.2
Porsche 3.7

Comparitively my car at 4.9 is close enough to the 4.8 to call it a wash. What is dissapointing is that I have a MTM tune, so is my car a dog? R&T claims 60-100mph in 4.0 sec. like a different car altogether.

For comparison my 1996 Turbo with 531 PS (DIN) achieved the following when measured with the same device over the same road.

Those 30-50 and 50-70 are terrible, was playing with my car yesterday doing those types of run and and know the times were less than half that. What do they mean in top gear? Are they doing it in 6th? I'm in 2nd or 3rd at that point.

They are almost lugging the engine, top gear refers to 6th gear or what ever the tallest gear is. This test indicates the motors torque at low rpm in top gear as if to execute a pass without downshifting. Unfortunately this makes the manual shift cars look like boat anchors compared to PDK or what have you that will downshift whether you want them to or not. I think it is an outdated test.

LAT- i think the high hp numbers on this car are not felt till speeds over 100 mph. taking the GTR, for example, it can bear the fruit of a 3.4 second 0-60 launch, but after 100 mph it is relatively slow because high speeds are a hp game. on the other hand, your 80-120 number is kind of high, it seems, for an almost 600 hp car.

I agree with you and will retest to see if anything changes. Possibly traction due to cold surfaces, so I could turn off the traction control and heat them up. Practice my shifting ability, my first gated shifter, and familiarity with the car, have put 700 miles on it since purchase, etc., will keep you posted.

do just one 0-60-100 and quarter mile run once the car is nice and warmed up. this isn't a GTR. it won't break!

We received 6" of the white stuff last night so testing will have to wait for a while..

FYI- APR just released its own chip upgrade. i might be doing this one and get some numbers up on my own. will keep you posted. enjoy the white stuff. i miss that about the north.
