Rear Tire Size Option - 305/40/19

Has anyone tried to fit a 305/40/19 tire on a OEM stock 19 inch rim?
My car is not lowered. Ride height is stock.

    Thx.

Why do you want a slightly taller tire back there ?? Best to keep rolling diameters as close to stock as possible

Harrison... Just a matter of tire choice.
I want to consider Bridgestone RE11 or pilot cups but they don't come in our size... So just a thought.

Last I checked at tire rack, pilot cups come in 305/30/19, as well as 245/35/19.

The RE-11's do come in 305/30/19, as I am getting them on mine when I get my new wheels.

Tire Rack has a way to check the diameter of front and back tires. There are previous threads about the maximum allowed difference between front and rear diameters. If the difference is too great you MAY tear out your front differential.

The thread is worth looking for.

This is an excellent size combo for the R8. Of course the 305 is a size which is provided as an R8 option tire by Audi on the stock rear wheels, and the 245 is an excellent fit on the stock front wheels. I have a set of Pirelli Trofeo (cup tires) in these same sizes and the car luvs them.

Re: Rear Tire Size Option - 305/40/19

I had a set of PZeros (245/35/19 & 305/30/19) on my car for almost 14k miles. I just replaced them with the Mich PS2 in the same size and love them. It is a great size for the R8.

I considered waiting for the Mich Pilot Super Sport, but they are not expected until sometime in April (according to Mich USA).
