    New member - few mods

Hi, first of all I'd like to congrat for the forum which is really rich of information! I am a Porsche fan, I had 4 996's before buying the R8 4.2 R-tronic (it really looks cool!!!) that steeled my heart !

I bought a 2008 4.2 R8 black on black with 11k miles on it, and as usual I had to do "my stuff" to it...so let's get to business:

1-Tubistyle full exhaust...OEM headers but with 200 cell cats, and exhaust with secondary cats removed. Amazing sound, no drone and very exotic!

2-BMC filters...I refused to spend so much money on Evoms or PPI filters so I bought 2 BMC filters (76mm diameter) and with 20 euro I made a plastic support just not to make them move...

    3-Cargraphic ECU tune.

Now I'm quite happy about the performance! I'm not tracking the car (I use another car for that) but I have a problem with the vibration when doing U-turns, mostly when is wet! I really hate that...I have the new Pilot Super Sport on and they are amazing, but with this tires the vibration has increased...and in narrow curves the car understeers a lot!(before I had winter tires Pirelli).

There is any camber solution or something else to solve this problem? (sorry I couldn't find any answer in the forum and now that is a caracteristic of the R8...but there most be a solution! )

    Thanks

I'm assuming you feel this most at low speeds and when your steering wheel is at or close to full lock.

You have summer tires and temperatures are still cold in Italy. You won't have this vibration anymore in a few months when it warms up.

This is the best reminder that your rubber doesn't like the current ambient/road temps.

Its the first time I hear of Cargraphic ECU tune, what are the specs/costs?

    Hi!

Yes is just as you said...at full look is really annoying...it shakes the whole car!

I really can't tell about just the Cargraphic ECU because I had all install at once...so I can talk about the whole package...

The car STOCK it felt really "COLD" and lazy...after this setup now it goes fast to rev limiter and its quite aggressive...I don't believe in much HP gaining by tuning NA engines so I think the whole package gives about 20hp...even if they promess 35hp (yeah right...in your dreams!)! But there is a lot more torque and the car became really fun to drive...fuel consumption raised a lot but I don't care, I didn't buy it thinking about MPG...

P.s: Sorry for my English, I haven't written this much in English since 1999...so I'm a little rusty!

Have fun with your car. Don't push it too much with your current tires since they are not gripping too great in those temperatures. Wait until it's warmer.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride. I think you did a pretty good job on the Mod list - nice simple quality parts (i've heard really good things about the Cargraphic tune).

As far as your rubbing issues - a new set of ADV.1's of course!
