Hard to beat the OEM rims for weight saving. They're some of the lightest around. Dymags were a tad lighter, but no longer available.

Ceramic brakes ended up saving about 7 lbs (3.2 kg) per corner on my car.

    Put helium in the tires...

Unfortunately the weight savings by changing the exhaust is more like half of that amount. The STaSIS saves 19.7 lbs which is only 9 kg. Perhaps a very slim exhaust like the Quicksilver would be lighter. The GMG Racing exhaust is claimed to weigh only 17 lbs (7.75 kg) which is EXTREMELY light. I picked one up in the showroom and it feels very, very light.

    From my Magnaflow thread:

    Wanna save 100Kgs? Here's how:

    1. Remove OEM Battery. Replace with Braille Carbon Battery but make sure you trickle charge every night! (Save 30Kg)

    2. Remove OEM Seats. Replace with Recaro Carbon Fibre Seats weighing less than 8kg each with bases! (Save 40Kg)

    3. Remove OEM Muffler. Replace with Stasis. (Save 15-20kg)

    4. Polycarbonate Engine Cover. Replace with nothing, cause Audi won't sell you one! (Save 15Kg)

There you go! Over 100Kgs in 4 easy mods. Trust me, it's easy to shed weight in the R8!

Isn't weight saving a case how far can you afford and want to go.

I mean easy stuff like carbon wheels, lighter tires which will make it feel a lot lighter, carbon bucket seats, titanium exhaust.

then loose thing that you don't need like engine covers, trunk lining ect.

Then for big money/made to order mods carbon hood, bumpers, wings, doors, door panels, roof panel, guards under the car and dash inlays I'm sure there is much more you could do.

You could even loose the air con and sat nav then cut the dash up and carbon that too get rid of the carpet and roof liner But don't think many people want to cut their R8s up is there?
