    Stasis HPPF Kit Dyno Results

Hey Guys, finally got my R8 on the Dyno after the Stasis HPPF install.
As you know I did a Stock baseline a while ago.

We used the same dyno, same operator, same time of day, air temp was 3 degree's warmer on this run.

Results are below. As you can see, there is an improvement of about 5-18 RWHP in the mid-range. However, in the top-end, the gains are much less. In fact, peak power is up by just 2 RWHP to 355.7RWHP.
According to Stasis Marketing Dyno plot, peak power should be 465HP at the crank. So, let's say my RWD has a very high 20% (normally about 15%) drivetrain loss, then peak power should be 372 RWHP.
So, as you can see, I have made some gains, but no where near the Stasis Claims.

Also, check out the AF Ratio. Looks like the gain comes from a leaner mixture.
But, the mixture gets richer from about 6200RPM and actually ends up being richer than Stock mapping all the way to redline.

I have emailed Stasis and the response has been a little under-whelming.
Will keep pushing for a solution and advise shortly.

In the meantime, I STRONGLY encourage members to DYNO and TEST modifications!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more and we should also post results. Here is my experience posted elsewhere.

I obtained a measurable gain with my MTM tune but short of what was promised.

Before flash on Dyno Dynamics dyno, 378.2 HP @ 7223 rpm and 299.2 LB FT @ 6291 rpm

    After flash 407.6 HP @ 7456 rpm and 306.2 LB FT @ 6369 rpm

Straight gain of 29.4 HP or 7.7% horsepower and 7.0 LB FT or 2.3% torque at the wheels.

MTM advertises a gain to 588 HP or 12.0% I achieved 7.7%or roughly 2/3 rds of the advertised gain.

The runs were done on the same day without moving or unstrapping the car. First pre flash run was at 12:11 pm., the first post flash run was made at 3:13 pm, we did 3 before and 3 after runs. It took the best part of 3 hours to upload and download the program files. All the uploading and downloading was done by Hoppen Motorsports by Internet and went seamlessly.

I am happy with the results as I expect most tuners take "marketing liberties".

Bz888, who did your install and did they show you dyno results? If I were going to order a blower or TT system, I'd require the vendor to guarantee the promised results and prove it before getting paid.

Parts and ECU Flash were purchased from Stasis USA and installed by my local race prep workshop in Australia. So, unfortunately, had to pay in full before they shipped. I hope Stasis can work out whats going on and provide a solution, if not, it will reflect badly on their reputation and I won't be happy!

Stasis numbers on supercharger were dead on for me,
350awhp before and 446awhp after. Figure with 20% loss that 96awhp gain is the exact 120hp at crank they claim. Before I did the blower I tried APR tune and found gains to be a bit over 1/2 what they claim. From all my years of modding NA's motors have found thats usually the case.

If that's the case, how can these tuners get away with such lies??
Surely Consumer Protection Laws would kick in?

Because it affects too few to get any political attention.

What does Audi sell a couple thousand R8's a year worldwide If ten percent tune their cars and we divide this by the number by the number of tuners and then of these how many prove their results. I think it is obvious where this I going.

Most tuners are small business with less than 5-10M in sales and way under the radar.

See I was always under the impression that any mods such as intakes/inductions/mani most engine mods you would only really see any gain once it was RE-maped.

as in bz888s case his now runs lean then to rich because the computer is still trying to run the old stock setup imo it needs a full remap.

How you asked stasis for the dyno results? and how they achieved those results?

    Maybe I'm wrong.

Interesting you should comment on remapping.

I have been having conversations with ABT re their ECU and a exhaust addition and they recommended that it is just not a case of install.

They strongly suggest that the car should run on a dyno at the time of installation and then tune tweaked to maximize the gain and performance of a new exhaust and ecu in combination otherwise things can work against each other or not be maximized.

They say 600hp is easily and safely achievable using this approach on the V10.

They run race teams so I guess I am gullible?

Time will tell before and after.

600hp with no turbo or charger?

I would say without you could get 550-570 max thats only my opinion with such mods as exhaust, induction ect I can't see a way to get 600hp would come that easy but maybe I'm wrong I would be interested to see a dyno print out of it.

I'm only going by history tuning drifting cars so could have got it wrong.
