Anyone install the Stasis supercharger in a V10 yet?

Been thinking of adding some umph to the V10 R8. Did a bit of searching - hadn't found if anyone had already installed the Stasis supercharger in a V10 yet. Looks like some folks have ordered it and a lot are interested. The HP gain numbers on their website, and the video going around of the red R8 Spyder looked compelling. Wondered if there was any real world experience yet, or dyno numbers for that matter?

Also - wasn't real clear to me if the warranty is covered by Audi or Stasis?

    Thanks

I want one sooo bad. But, even with a warranty, your money invested would vaporize on resale. I did the Stasis ECU upgrade, a modest investment and even more modest performance upgrade. But even the dealer who installed it could not assure me it would allow me to buy an exstended warranty when the factory one runs out. I have been though this with a VF SC on my Carrera 4S 996, which I will likely be buried in to get my value back. I know we do not buy these cars for investment but come on, 50k +. Will someone out there get one and tell us how bad it is so I won't do it. Thanks, Will.

I don't believe they have been formally released yet...

    Hello jaxr8,

Where abouts are you based, are you in the UK?

No customer cars have been converted yet because the kits are being produced for delivery this summer, 20 in total so far. We have one being converted here in our shop as soon as the kit is finished.

Feel free to contact me if you would like to talk about this.

    Many thanks,

    Ed Jackson

I'm wondering if any more performance figures are available like 0-100mph, quarter mile etc.

I have some information and a little direct experience to report!

My '09 STāSIS supercharged 4.2L V8 coupe is at VF for a couple of weeks while they are doing some development work on it (ongoing product inspection and verification). I went by their facility this week to see what was up with my baby.

Of course, we got talking about the V10 program. As mentioned above, STāSIS has apparently sold a large number of V10 kits including quite a few complete V10 Challenge Extreme Editions. The supercharger hardware needed to satisfy all of these orders is currently in production. In the meantime their test cars are accumulating miles and racking up real-world experience to insure the software is mature at release.

I took a look at this V10 coupe with the complete STāSIS supercharger hardware and Challenge Extreme Edition kit. You can see a little more of the installation in these pictures since it is not as hidden as it is in the original Spyder installation. Since this car was being worked on I wasn't able to drive it.

Re: Anyone install the Stasis supercharger in a V10 yet?

All this talk about supercharged cars was so stimulating, Nik and I decided some additional research was called for. First he took my supercharged Corvette for a spin. As you know, the ZR1 weighs 300 lb less than the R8, and has an aluminum 6.2L 638 HP / 604 lb-ft engine with the same Eaton TVS supercharger as is used on the Audi V10s. So of course we weren't doing this for fun, but as serious research!

While it is difficult to stretch its legs in the city, we were fortunately able to find a short deserted stretch of straight road where we could conduct our research.

Nik then decided that a back-to-back comparison was in order, but the STaSIS V10 mule wasn't available. So we jumped into this gorgeous Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 complete with VF Engineering Supercharger installed.

What an awesome car!!!! With a reported 200HP gain over the stock Lambo, the performance is stunning. We've all seen Matt Farah's video review of the V10 Spyder, so I was expecting over the top loss of traction. NOT! The most amazing thing is how calm and manageable it all is. With eGear, AWD and the extremely confident chassis and suspension, this is simply a fabulous car to drive. Those of you with the STaSIS supercharger already on order for your R8 V10 are going to be extremely pleased with your decision!
