Just placed an order for a BRAILLE lightweight race battery. Stock battery close to 64.5 lbs. New battery with same COLD Cranking Amps will weigh 21 lbs, resulting in weight reduction of 43.5 lbs...YEEHAW !! Balance is getting better all the time. Model B3121...218.54 tx. and shipping incl. Now I'll put the stock R8 battery in a truck or tractor where it belongs!!

Were you not tempted to go with the B3121C in carbon fibre?

Have you determined which of the mounts is suitable given that the braille has a smaller footprint than the OEM battery?

Thanks for the heads-up on the footprint...If I were to make a clear battery compartment cover...then I would go with the C.F. battery!!

Will the Braille battery how many days do you think it would take before it would discharge to the point of not being able to start the car?

I expect I will only use the car on weekends and if I'm not around even longer periods between use and if this battery would work for me.

Let us know how you handle the mounting?

    Two words: battery tender.

Not the answer to my question although it is the obvious solution it would still be good to know, me thinks.

I take it that the new battery is a Li-Po or similar?

Do they tend to suffer from discharge when not used? I was under the impression that the new generation of batteries don't tend to suffer from long term discharge like a NiCad or lead acid battery can.
