Fire Extinguisher Mount

Without a roll bar, the best way to mount a fire extinguisher is to a bracket on the floor which is typically mounted to the front seat bolts. I have this one on my Corvette:


I know there are universal brackets, but they are kinda erector-set looking for a car as nice as the R8. Here's an example.


Does anyone know if there is a commonly available bracket (e.g., late model 911, or early 911, or BMW xxx, or ...?) which would fit the spacing of the R8 attachment points?

I'd be very interested in doing this mod. I love the look Ferrari/Maserati have with the extinguisher mounted to the left of footwell in passenger area.
And it's always good to be prepared for the unexpected.

Good point! However.... Many track organizations require a fire extinguisher mounted within reach of the driver. That is the reason for the question.

What is the fire extinguisher solution in the GT? Surely there must be one to comply with regulations if a GT owner tracked the vehicle.

I was thinking along the same lines. Just trying to decide where I want to place the bottle. There are some tradeoffs involved and I am noodling on the problem:

• The storage compartment under the seat complicates the placement if you still want to be able to open the little door.
• The seat has quite a bit of travel and sits very close to the floor. Typically passengers on-track want the seat fairly far forward so they can brace their feet firmly against the front of the footwell. The seat will hit the bottle unless it is placed quite far forward in the footwell.
