    APR ECU Tune For the V10

    Just had the APR ECU tune done today, and in a word: amazing. Car feels transformed with much quicker throttle response and the additional low end (~3k rpm) torque is a huge boon in city driving. Can't wait to get it on the track. I can't imagine a better power-per-dollar modification out there. And as an aside, kudos to the APR support staff (I called them several times and they were incredibly helpful) and the folks at DBC Performance here in San Antonio.

    Great to hear! Which tune did you have installed - 93 or 91? I'm planning on having the APR tune installed just as soon as she is properly broken in. My only question is whether to wait for the "Full" tune.

    The "Full" tune may never come!

    I just had a call yesterday from APR that my rewritten code is ready to go in.

    Have it booked for tomorrow so can't wait.

    I had the 93 octane tune done. The shop that I work with in San Antonio (and this may be true of any APR dealer) will reflash to the 91 octane tune in the event that I road trip to an area where 93 isn't easily available. I'd highly recommend it as the tune quickly fixes the soft spot in torque off-the-line. Of course, I was a little spoiled with respect to torque coming out of my 997 turbo.

    We only run 98 octane fuel here in OZ for R8's so a switching option is meaningless here.

    A 98OCT garage on every corner.

    I too got the APR ECU today @ 034 Motorsports in Fremont CA. Nice guys.
    My take in the 91 Octane program...
    The car was a monster to begin with, and its still a monster after the flash.
    What a think i really notice is that it shifts a lot harder at high RPMs. Seems like the car breathes better. I wish i could get 93 octane to feel what Alamo City feels in his v10.
    Is the car that much faster? I'm really not too sure... it was pretty fast to begin with. Unfortunately 034 Motorsports dyno isn't compatible with the R8, so i will have to check another dyno in the area.

    I had mine done there about 3 months ago. Surprisingly, I was the first one they had done. Yeah, their dyno does not accommodate awd setup like ours. As I mentioned to you, for whatever reason, I really felt the difference after I brought my car into the Audi dealership the next week after for servicing. Not really sure why, it almost as if the ECU needed to be restarted, but they hadn't done that???

    Heh, it must be APR Wednesday. I just got my APR 93 tune today also. They actually have two 93 tunes available. I took the "test pipe" one, which seemed appropriate with my secondary cats in the attic. Before and after dyno numbers are up on the dyno thread.

    again... wish i could feel the 93 tune... =( or Maybe ill wait a week or so for it to kick in like CalBenzos and service the car.
