Stasis Supercharger vs. Heffner Twin Turbo

I have a V10 with the APR ECU and Tubi exhaust. While the car is very powerful, I am trying to decide between the Stasis supercharger package or the Heffner twin turbo to take it to the next level. I track the car and am concerned with high engine/oil temps particularly on hot summer days, as well as overall engine life. Does anyone have either of these systems on their car that can provide some input? Does anyone have a recommendation as to which system is best for the V10? Thanks for any advice!!

Re: Stasis Supercharger vs. Heffner Twin Turbo

If you track the car, you do NOT want a turbo. The lag, ( yes this turbo has considerable lag), and with so much extra horsepower coming on at imprecise times, makes for a very poor and nervous track experience. I often hear that one of the executives of Miller Motorsport Racetrack has a turbo R8, and that whenever I track my supercharged R8 there, he tells others how untrackable his R8 is with the turbo, and that he wishes he had chosen the smooth power of the supercharger.

I also have a Turbo Porsche Cayman race car with about 500HP and I know how frustrating it is coming out of certain turns waiting for the big power surge. If you don't have your car positioned perfectly for that big power surge, you will find difficulties that often require letting up on the throttle and repositioning the car, and then again spooling up the d*** turbo. Every track will always have 2 or 3 turns that are complete hell on big HP turbo cars. I will add that heat is always an issue with my turbo Porsche. Endurance racing is just not possible with my turbo car.

I do a lot of track driving... Certainly more than 25 days a year. That is why I decided on initiating the development of supercharged R8 over a turbo. I was one of the early developers of the R8 supercharger. I had considerable big power turbo experience on tracks, with turbo lag and severe heat issues, and I wasn't wanting more of it.

PS,.. I make no money on any R8 supercharger sales. And Heffner does make a great product for the street. But I definitely prefer a supercharger's cool, smooth, linear power for the track,...( and for the street).
And, like I have said before, the STaSIS supercharged R8 V10 is indeed my idea of the ultimate R8 supercar. ( and NO, I do not have one.)

Have never driven a turbo'ed R8 but if it's anything like the highly modded GT-R's and Porsche Turbo's I have driven would take my Stasis Supercharger over them any day. Love how smooth and how much torque the car has through out the whole band. Would think 710 hp of Stasis s/c would give you what you are looking for and big bonus of warranty. On the rally I was on I drove for hours straight of triple digit speeds and never any heating problems

    Bodhii, RS4Cab,

Thanks for your feedback! It sounds like both of you have quite a bit of experience with the supercharger. This forum certainly is a great place to learn what you want to know about the R8!! I will follow up once I get one of the systems installed and let you guys know how it performs.

    Bodhii,

I would like to ask that until you have driven one of my turbo V10 R8's that you refrain from commenting on the power delivery. As a matter of fact, until you have some sort of first hand experience with our systems you should refrain from commenting on them at all. Based on your commentary I will get Audi on the phone and advise that they get the turbos off of their Le Mans race cars and install superchargers right away. I find it interesting that you live within reasonable distance of Miller Motorsports Park yet when I extended an invitation to everyone on the forum to meet me at Miller to drive my twin turbo R8 on the track you failed to take me up on the offer. So you "hear" that Roger Miller says this or that but have never spoken to him personally and have the audacity to post this fourth party information on this forum in an attempt to discredit our system?

I can assure you that no system that we produce delivers power in the manner that a highly modified GTR or Porsche does. I can say this because I have driven highly modified GTR's and Porsche's, not because my best friend's cousin's sister's uncle told me what it's like.

I have my personal V10 R8 here at the shop and would like to extend the invitation to any owners to come out and drive it. If you are within reasonable distance, I will bring it to you.

I hope to meet some of you soon to experience this amazing car and I apologize if this post seems harsh but I can not continue to sit idly by and listen to these comments from those who have no first hand experience with our products.

    Thanks.

    titangolf-

If you need assistance with sourcing and getting a STaSIS setup installed do let me know. Just had another happy customer leave this area with one installed. It looks like you've already gone the aftermarket route so warranty may not be a huge concern in your case. Either way I'd be happy to help with getting any information over to you that you may need, installation and possibly even a tech/engineer to accompany the kit for installation. You can PM or email with any questions or needs: contact@europrice.us

    Cheers,

Re: Stasis Supercharger vs. Heffner Twin Turbo

There are hundreds of twin turbo Gallardos with the same V10 engines flying around out there. I have seen these monster cars out in the tracks for years with minimal issues. The TT V10 setup is proven and the power is limitless. Not all turbo cars are the same just as not all drivers are the same. I have seen just as many horrific turbo conversions as I have seen horrific drivers at the track.

John I would love to hook up with you. But I am one of those horrific driver you would not want to be near at the track. I am sure Jason Heffner knows someone in the west coast with a TT R8 who 'd be willing to give you the first hand experience.

I have ridden in one of Jason's TT V8's. Did a few laps at VIR in it.
Car was amazing and had no perceivable lag. He had it on the track with some monster, much more powerful Ford GTs. The R8 kept up nicely with the higher HP cars, and handled enviably well.
