Pick of the SC : And the winner is ?

Side-stepping the enthralling debate between what is more bad boy, the TT or SC route for the V8, I have to settle with what I can get my sticky paws on out here in the Asian tropics. And that seems to be the SC solution.

So, any strident views on whether it should be PES, Stasis or ABT, in terms of build quality, reliability and performance ?

As for Mr Heffner, sir - if I can ever get across to your neck of the woods I will more than gladly take you up on the fine offer of a test drive in your TT version. Sounds sublime. If you want to consider delivering the kit to me in Asia, and showing my dealer how to fit it, then I can call you straight away !

I am personally bias to the STaSIS system as it has been proven time and time again in North America, and across the pond, as an extremely reliable and powerful system. Not to speak ill of other manufacturers, the PES system hasn't had such flattering reviews, though there may be some who use it without issue. ABT, personally I haven't sold one of their systems and I have yet to see one stateside or for that matter owned privately.

Having just helped a customer purchase a STaSIS V8 supercharger and get this installed here in CA I can say he is quite pleased. The power delivery is nice and linear, the installation isn't extremely daunting for a professional shop, the fit and finish is OE and I can offer a nice deal to you if you are interested.

Interesting, does anyone have any experience that they can share re the PES Tuning SC ? The various distributors of SC around the region are not being hugely useful for comparisons. Alexander, I will email you directly for a quote for the STaSIS.

PES is not a trustworthy brand IMO. The stasis kit is good, but honestly nothing amazing IMO. I don't know anything about ABT, so if it came down to the two, I'd go Stasis.

Nik, will do. I am being told that the only authorized Audi dealer in the country will not touch a modification of this kind - but then they have never worked on an R8 either. Wonderful. So my only option may be to import a technician for the job. How extensive did you say your network was ... ?!
