APR no code for my new car?

hi everyone so I just picked up my car last night r8 v10 spyder and today I took it to one of APR'S dealer anyway turned out they DONT have the codes / program for my vehicle ...supposedly according to the tech he stated that my vehicle have to 2012 software on ..and they can't help me. Anyone have this problem ? That's too bad I guess...wanted to feel thee power of the graceskull ..anyone have similar problem ?

Typically if your car has ECU coding more recent than cars they have already reprogrammed, the APR dealer will download your car and send it to APR. In a few days they will send back updated code that will work with your car.

I don't know if they will do this if you are only getting the free two hour trial version though - you may have to commit to buy before they will do so. APR monitors this forum, so I'm sure they will give you a more complete update on how the process actually works.

Same thing happened on my new 2011.

No APR code was available for my particular Audi ecu ..so they just sent it off online to APR HQ for a new inclusion of the different Audi Codes.

Came back a few days later and it works a treat.

Maybe your installer was not fully aware or as Desperado mentioned maybe they don't do it free trials?

well they did mentioned about sending the codes to APR so I guess Monday or Tuesday. my only concern is that when I asked them if they flashed a lot of r8s they said no they never had ..so I'm just a bit worried about the quality of work or experience of the job on the r8s since they haven't flashed one...should i find a dealer that actually flashed r8s before? just to make sure there is some level of experince? what u guys think?

Previous experience always gives confidence but..

Installers only upload or download the files.

They do not modify the content and watching mine being done appears pretty much foolproof.

Whilst I went to a authorized main Apr Dealer..it was there first actual R8 and there was no problems at all.

Just make sure they are APR authorized Installer which you will find on the APR website.

OK they are. so lets try it!! Gazza I read in other threads that u had yours done....I'm in San Diego ca we use 91 octane I assume it wont have the a major improvement ?

The APR 93 tune will run fine on 91, it just won't have a significant power increase over stock (based on my seat of the pants dyno, and about 2000 miles of personal experimentation).

However, pour in a 32 ounce, $8 bottle of Turbo 108 Street Formula Octane Boost into each tank of 91, and the power boost is amazing. Just like running 93.

I recently drove to an area with plenty of 93 octane available, and the APR 93 tune on genuine 93 gasoline performs exactly like the APR 93 tune running "octane boosted" 91 gas.

I later experimented with adding the same octane boost formula to the genuine 93 gas, and there was no noticeable increase in power.

I know APR won't tell you to do it, but I recommend getting the APR 93 tune, buy 91 gas whenever you just want to run like stock, but every once in a while treat yourself to a bottle of octane boost. It'll make your day.

yeah the guy at the dealer here told me to NOT do 93 tuned and then fill up with 91 ...however he did say to do the opposite completely lol flash 91 and if i want to i van put in 93 ? hmmm interesting tho on your post about the octane booster...where do u go to get that? lol also u sure about doing this?

No problems. Runs great. Audi dealer did a full diagnostic, nothing amiss, and they didn't even detect the APR code changes.

Autozone has the stuff, just make sure to get the street formula, the one in the big bottle that doesn't have the warnings on it saying not to use it in a road car. I wouldn't trust the stuff in the small bottles.

The ECU with the 93 tune actually does fine compensating for the different octane levels. However I've yet to hear impressions from anyone who has an APR 91 tune running 93 gas, so I know nothing about that.
