Does anyone know if it's possible to use the R8 GT flash/programming in a regular R8? That should give a non r8 GT 560 HP.

Nop, that's wrong. The GT has an other air-system, so much shorter ways, other pressures through the rear wing and the other designed hood instead of the long way through the sideblades. So you would never get the power of a GT just with flashing the GT-software to a V10. And i guess they have changed some more things besides this.

Not clear on what you are describing as other air-system and other pressures

the V10 R8 can be remapped to produce 560PS piece of piss
you just need a good tuner
okay, i'll try again :P
The Original V8 and V10 has the air-intake for the engine between the sideblades and the door. So when you're driving, the air gets "loaded" through the airstream that's pushed through there. So it is a kind of manifold pressure like it is produced through a charger or turbo.
The V10 GT has the air-intake in the back of the engine hood, as you can see three intakes there. Through the aerodynamic design of the GT wing, the intake-pressure is a lot higher than by a normal V10/V8 with the sideblade-version. So all together, the GT has shorter ways witch makes it a lot easier for the engine to rev up, and more air-intake-pressure through the aerodynamic wing.

thanks, I get what you are saying but,
Does the Lambo Gallardo not use side intakes to make 560-570 hp
why would source of air matter as long as desireable a/f ratio is met

I am not saying it is not possible, just saying with OEM R8 V10 GT software you will not get the GT horsepower out of an normal V10 - that what the threadstarters question was.
Maybe it is - but for me this is speaking against it![]()
your answer is you can get 560PS from the V10 but not by just flashing the GT map
take it too an experienced and reputable tuner
in the UK, MRC Tuning could do it with their eyes closed
Yes, as of this date you can increase the power output of a non-GT pre-MY2012 R8 V10 by installing an aftermarket ECU flash. The aftermarket advertises that their programming allows a R8 V10 to equal (or in some cases exceed) the stated power output of the GT. There are a lot of threads about this subject on R8Talk. Caveat Emptor.
RIGHT! You cannot simply put the OEM R8 GT programming into a non-GT R8 V10. Other than the obvious logistical reasons (where do you obtain this programmming, and how do you overcome the security in the ECUs and other "systems differences" between the models? The dealer will NOT be able to do this for you!), some of the engine components are upgraded in the GT's V10 over the non-GT V10, so I believe the GT requires its own specific programming.
