Will an aftermarket V10 exhaust fit on a V8?

Just bought a 2009 R8 V8 and my friend just got rid of his V10 with a GWG racing exhaust. He is selling his exhaust for an extremely low price. I've searched the threads and found nothing that would help me determine the fitment differences on the aftermarket versions of these two exhausts. Any help would be appreciated. By studying pictures of the two exhausts it looks like it fits (theoretically).

There was a thread on this a while back. Apparently, if you do get it to fit, it doesn't run smoothly due to something with the back pressures (if memory serves me right). Believe it was the insides, or the guts of the exhaust that are different diameters on V10.....

V10 and V8 exhausts are interchangeable but the innards are different, and like nvrl8r8 said, you probably you won't get the intended exhaust note or backflow because of it. With that said, I think the performance difference between aftermarkets is marginal but leaps and bounds better than stock.

Thanks for all the info guys, I think I might bite the bullet on the installation costs and try it out. I will update on the sound/tone of the exhaust compared to stock and any other problems/differences doing the install.

from my milltek exhaust, I had the race on the R8V8 and now on the V10, it was a completely different exhaust, even looking similar from the outside, the inside is a different design to comp with the V10 power output...
