Can laser (lidar) diodes be installed in the headlights

Does anyone know if it is possible to put diodes from Laser Interceptor in the front headlights of the R8.
I read in a laser/radar forum where some people where installing the diodes in the front headlights and wondered if it was possible to do so on the R8

I'm just curious why you would want to do that? It would be a real hassle and could easily be installed in the front grille, hiding it perfectly. The slots on the front grille of the R8 are almost too perfect for the little black boxes.

I'm not sure of how much trouble it is and that is why I am asking the question.
The reason is that it would be much more stealth and that is the reason I ask

PS Not sure what you mean when you say

I think he means that the slats are the perfect height, the colour is great at making the laser diodes steathy, and you can mount the boxes just in-board of the headlight; the perfect placement. Why bother with destroying an expensive headlight enclosure?

Not exactly sure which location you are referring to. Do you mean behind the grill itself next to the light or on the fins just below the lights. If you have a pic that would be super....thanks

I'm talking about the center grille, not the fins under the headlights. I have attached a photo for you to see.

Thanks for talking the time to take the photo, and have to agree, it makes more sense to do it there.
I noticed that part of the grill seems to obstruct the diode. Does this not affect it at all
    Thanks again
PS: where did you put the rear ones

Believe it or not, I have been told that even two up front is overkill as one has the ability to cover the entire front end. I guess they have been doing two up front with one in the rear for so long it has become normal. I still suggest two up front as I believe it is better to be safe than sorry, even if it is overkill. For the rear, above the license plate is the most common so it doesn't stick out at all. I have also seen it installed in the engine compartment right behind the glass up top, but that was pretty crazy. The rear is almost pointless as you will most likely be hit with laser from the front only, but once again, better safe than sorry. Hope my explanation makes sense. Lol!
