Depending on the extent, you should be able to see it with the wheel off.

Once it has spread though, you'll need to take the boot trim off to see the full extent of the crack.

One last thing, I'd recommend all R8 owners to get their cars checked, since this lack of support could cause the front suspension to separate under high load conditions.

This is what I was told at the dealer, since they wouldn't allow me to drive my car home, and promptly gave me a loaner.

Possibly the lambo gallaro may have this issue...since the frame sort of the same.

My car is a 2009 V8 coupe, and I assume since there's been no change to the frame structure of the car, every owner ought to be concerned about this.

Audi has steadfastly refused to fix the issue, since they claim it was caused by a pothole, an assertion that is laughable at best.

No car should crack from a pothole especially this one
With a audi spaceframe...that audi toots.
I like to say to audi stop building this car if you cant build a car

Thats what I said to them, but they absolutely refused.
My insurance is repairing the car, but I'm really concerned about the safety of the vehicle now.

Unbeilavable...that they wont cover.
Im suprised that the insurance company didnt total.
From the looks of it there is many hours to repair...plus have to take
To a aluminum specialist...thats kmows how to spot weld and weld aluminum.

Unfortunately my insurance company won't total unless the damage is ~80% of the value of the car.
Hence it can be repaired.

Just got back from checking on my car and there's another R8 there with the same issue.

If this as prevalent as it is appearing there may be cause for a class action law suit against Audi for attempting to ignore the problem. Am I wrong?
