And......? Even with all of that aggressive use, you had no split in the shock tower, right?!? Which is exactly my point! The car is not weak. But like any mechanical device it's strength can be exceeded! So imagine what these guys cars REALLY went through to cause this damage!

If some 09 were affected, then perhaps some 09 V10 would be missing those "rectangular plates" on the frame.

My car has been replaced, that's all I can say.

Bottom line, Audi identified an issue that could affect some owners in certain usage conditions that are considered normal, and fixed it during the 2009-2010 transition.

I know EXACTLY what my car went though to cause this damage.
Nobody ever drove my car other than me, so there were no wildcard factors here.

Insinuating that we are abusing our cars is not productive, and frankly condescending. I hope I'm reading this wrong, as I've found your other posts to be insightful and enlightening, not as I've found some comments on this thread.

    Cheers all!

Opie - your car was replaced? By yourself or by Audi? Can you give any details or "is all I can say" a condition of getting a replacement?
No leases. No loans. No lottery. No scams. No family money. No lies. Just 100% studying, savings and sweat equity.

Not particularly comfortable discussing in a public forum, however Audi stepped in with an accommodation due to my issues.

    Opie,

You started the thread. If you've resolved the issue then you owe it to both yourself and us to provide closure. Obviously, I'm not expecting you to break any non-disclosure agreement you may have entered into, but you should tell us as much as you can about how this was resolved.

I think I've done just that; Audi stepped in with some accommodation that resulted in me getting a 2012 R8.
If anyone else experiences this issue, I'd recommend engaging with Audi until you find a resolution that makes you happy, and I'll be happy to discuss with you over a PM or phone call.

Looks like opie's old V8 has been replaced with a 2012 V10, by Audi. I would guess that Audi bought the car back and opie was able to use that money towards the new 2010 V10.
