extended warranty..is it worth it

Looking for comments or experiences on the Audi R 8 extended warranty. It is 3 years for 120,000 KM or 75,000 miles for $4800 US more or less.
This is my first R 8 and curious about the reliability

I think that's probably the price at time of original purchase in Canada? If so, then have a look at the post below which reports an extended warranty purchased as you come up to the end of your warranty period is $5K in which case you could wait to see how it goes.

I think the best way to judge the value of an extended warranty would be to consider the longer term reliability of other Audi models using many of the same drivetrain components. Most of these cars are too young to say.

I like to take my chances and never purchase extended warranty for anything - almost every item that ever broke in my possession ended up doing so after the warranty (even extended) was over.

You win some and you lose some, but in the long run if you end up purchasing extended warranty for anything that you can has it, just know you're on the losing side. It's just how this stuff works, it's an insurance policy of sorts. Now you just need to decide if you're the type who needs an insurance policy for everything or not.

Save those $5K towards any repairs should you actually need them, if you ever end up needing them.

Is this seperate from Audi Care? What does AC cover and how much for this coverage?

It is separate from Audi care and kicks in when the orignal warranty expires...not sure about AC

Audi Care is for scheduled maintenance. It is a pre-pay plan, not a warranty.
