Bonnet/hood won't open!

Came home tonight from the supermarket, and my bonnet wont open. I can hear the servo working, from the fob, and inside button, but the bonnet wont budge.
The manual shows a red pull chord for manual release, but neither me, nor the AA man could find it.
In my manual, it shows the chord position for a left hand drive, but can't find anything on the right side either The main problem is, my business phone is in the carrier bag,along with my dinner!. I'll take it to the dealer in the morning. Just on the off chance anyone knows where the chord may be hiding,

I had exactly the same issue. I eventually found the cord under the passenger foot well carpet. Pull the carpet down and you should see the fusebox, the red cord was by that, where the passenger floor meets the baulk head.

A word of warning though even when I found it the bonnet wouldn't open, it had to go to the dealer to be fixed.

I have had a problem with the bonnet only partially opening since new, I have to first hit the inside button and it will pop up but stays latched on the left, then as I pull up I have to hit the fob button and it will unlatch every time. I have had it looked at by the dealer twice and just head scratching ensues. Will

Thanks for the replies guys We even removed the aluminium surround that covers the fuses , but no sign of the chord, so I'll wait till the dealer looks at it.
Just beginning to think that maybe the carrier bag's got jammed in the lock.
The car must have known I was going to email a dealer tonight, about trading up to a nice red spider! Must be a female

It's in there, close to the top right corner of the fuse box, if you've removed the aluminium cover it would make this easier to spot, the cable + a small black piece of plastic is hooked to/near the top right hand corner of the fuse box.

Ive had this issue twice, audi fixed it both times under warranty. First time had to replace the whole mechanism, second time they just lubricated the catch and everythings fine now.

I've had this happen few times. Right side doesn't unlatch. I pull up on hood while pressing the button on fob. Releases every time.

I had it happen once on a hot weekend (dealership closed) with leftovers in the trunk. So frustrating. Even more frustrating is when the Audi service team told me they could not duplicate it, then that it was normal, then that they fixed it, and then only to have it happen again. Now, about 3 out of 5 times I hit the interior release button or keyfob it halfway unlatches, causing me to have to repeatedly hit the release button. Come on Audi, it's just a trunk latch -- not an engine management system.
