Red face discharged battery unable to open trunk to charge

    hi there
I have a 2009 R8. I was out of the country for a while and I come back to find out that the battery is discharged. I cannot open the luggage compartment to charge it back. Is there a mechanical release lever somewhere that I can use to force the trunk open ?
This is a nice pickle to be in

There's a release cord in the glove box area - may be under the box? I can't recall exactly. Look for a plastic wrapped wire loop. It's hard to pull, so don't think you're going to break it.

Look at your car's manual. The release cord is located somewhere near the top right corner of the FUSE box, below the glove box.

Remove the passenger's foot mat, pull open the fuse box and search for the release cord near the top right corner.

Look just above the top of the floor mat in the footwell if you have the floor mats, the manual says one thing but I actually found the pull cord a little further away.

Use a torch, that might go without saying.

They do provide remote terminals you can plug another battery or battery charger into so you can then pop the hood.
