    Servicing light reset

    Hi,

Sorry i am new to this forum. I have a R8 R-tronic with full Carbon fibre ABT trims. I have taken it to my nearest Audi showroom with the computers for this model which is in Valencia 1 1/2 hrs away to have a full service. The light is still showing and would rather not have to take it all that way for them to charge me 250 euros to put on their machine again for 10 seconds. Does anyone on here know the way to turn this light off?????

Welcome to the site. Please put your location in your profile, as it helps with different questions/markets.

There are only two ways that I know of to reset the service interval light:
    Audi Dealership
Ross-Tech VAG-Com software (and I've not had the best of luck getting this to work - doesn't reset my RS6's service light)
    Yellow Dog Racing
    2011 Samoa Orange V8 R-tronic

You can also download VAS-PC which is the Audi dealership software and use it yourself but you will need the VAS-5054A head from eBay or similar supplier.

If you get the VAS-5054A head and VAS-PC installed on a Windows machine then you can check and reset errors etc in exactly the same way as the dealer would.

    Yes that's the puppy.

You could use the CDs which come with it or you can get the software from here

What is really cool about the VAS-5054A is that it can be used via USB or bluetooth, so once bluetooth is setup you can use the laptop on your workbench in your workshop while the VAS-5054A is in the vehicle without having to be tethered to the car.

    Re: Servicing light reset

Go to the website as follows and register then try the link again and it will work for you:

    http://www.garageforum.co.uk/forum/1...9-english.html

That is the english version, you will then need to download a bunch of files.

Seeing as you need the VAS-5054A head which comes with CDs anyway you may aswell just do that.

    Re: Servicing light reset

The VAS-PC software comes with PDF instruction manuals which will explain how to setup the VAS-5054A head via bluetooth.

In short, you will first need to connect the VAS-5054A head to the vehicle via USB and you will see a small blue LED on the VAS-5054A light-up once a second or so. Then you use the hardware icon on your desktop to setup the VAS-5054A head for bluetooth.

    I'm currently using v18.01.01

    Look in C:\SIDIS\home\lng.ukd\MANUALS

ukd - This may change depending on your installation language of choice.
