Had our first service on the Spyder this week. (Momentum Audi, Houston, TX, USA)
Very good dealership service and quick, prompt support. By the way, they have several R8's in all configurations. Even a new 2012 GT! VERY nice, but not at list of $210K! The upgrade wheels on the GT are wonderful. I may order for our V10.
Typical oil chg, checks, etc.
I had them check for the fuel line/fire recall issue, but our car (one of the 1st load of '11 Spyders to come to the US) was not involved. They checked anyway and all was well.
They did say there was another recall for the rear engine hatch actuating mechanism and have to order parts for that. I had not heard of that one yet.
Otherwise, no apparent ECU or computer upgrades or changes and everything else was good to go. Tires wearing evenly and mechanical's were all in good shape.
Per another post, I asked again about the cold start-up roughness and exhaust smell and they heard it numerous times before. The Tech told me it's just the way they run a bit, until warmed up. That's our experience with both of the R8's we've owned.
Finally, I am looking forward to adding the new 2012 RS5 to our stable and have my pre-order hanging out there with two dealerships already. Supposed to get order specs in 4Q11 and initial deliveries in 1Q12.
