Been Quoted £1200 for R8 V8 Service

Hi Guys my car has just done under 30k miles and my inspection service is due in 15 days, went to book with my Local Audi Dealer, and they quoted £1200 for the inspection service if i remember correctly it includes

Oil + Filter
Air Filter
Brake Fluid
Pollen Filter

just wondering if this sounds right you guys

Bring your own oil, buy it off ebay (same brand/type) for 1/10th of your stealership price and save a few hundred pounds from the get go

Mate just have Audi do the bare minimum and your local mechanic do everything else. Audi charge a really high hourly rate to pay for the nice showrooms and pretty saleswomen My car has had 2 services now one at 20K and one at 35K and both only cost me around £500. Just say to the them I want you to do the bare minimum so I have a nice stamp in my service book.

Are you sure they are not confusing it with a Nissan GT-R..

That was a starting price for a service when I owned one.

Service cost for the 1000k service for my V10 coupe where I supplied the oil was $160.

Yikes ... that's an insane price. Mine came with a full service package for the first four years which the original owner paid about that amount for in total!

I have owned GTR's before and i know their prices are ridiculous,
do you think its worth shopping around, ? or will all audi dealers be the same price,

as for getting another garage to do the rest of the work i would rather have Audi do it all,

can you buy the service package, "after the fact," so to speak....

In the US, I think dealers only offer the "Audi Advantage" routine service package at time of new car sale (correct me if I'm wrong)....at least that's what the TELL you when you're signing the check for the new car!

It's a HUGE bargain on an R8 because it's the SAME price for ANY Audi (A3 to R8), $750 when I bought mine to cover all scheduled maintenance to 50k mi..

All Audi dealers will be similar price in the UK. Places like London will be slightly more expensive. He can get it done for less than half if he only has audi do the minimum required for the stamp.
