I have an '11 V10 Spyder with about 3600 miles on it. Over the past month or so, it developed a metallic vibration noise, intermittent in nature, behind my left ear as I drive. It gradually became louder and more frequent. I've tried to pinpoint it to certain conditions, such as acceleration/deceleration, rpm range, but to no avail.
I brought the car to my Audi dealer who also heard the noise. They had no luck pinpointing the source, and contacted Audi who claims it is due to the fuel filter (? retention clip; I really don't have a clue) and the filter was replaced. No change. If due to a faulty fuel filter design, I would have thought that either changing the filter would help, or that the problem would have been there from the start.
Anybody else have this problem, or better yet, a diagnosis or solution? Thanks.
