Bolts stripped on engine hatch latch

Noticed today after washing that three of the 4 bolts were not tight. Latch was loose. The way the paint looks on the bolts, 3 were removed and the latch pivoted up for some reason. Only one dealer has worked on my car and that was for tranny noise. Not sure why they would need to remove/move this latch. I tried to tighten with just fingers and they are stripped. Hopefully Audi can fix this without having to replace frame pieces. We won't be back home for another 2 weeks . What's worse case scenario if latch comes completely off?

You know you may be a redneck when...
You use twine from the Home Depot to keep the trunk closed on your Audi R8.

(I was listening to Jeff Foxworthy on the radio on the way home tonight, and I just couldn't help myself --- I read your post and the visual just popped into my head! )

I' ve got a roll of duct tape just in case! Does anyone know if these could be bolts with nuts and not screws as I think they are?

    Update

I'm traveling and trying to get the car fixed has almost become comical! Was going to wait until we returned home to local dealer for repair. AOA advised that my dealer no longer has a R8 tech. Ok, so we'll do repair while we're here. Parts have been ordered and shipped to closest R8 dealer, over 2 hours away. A major bridge on I 64 is closed and getting there is a struggle. I now have found out that a large convention is taking place next week and no hotel rooms are available. I really don't want to make 2 trips there. Parts required paint work and that should have been done. We're ready to just cut our visit short and head home. Would it be to much if I ask Audi to ship parts on to another dealer that would be along the route to my home?

Lonnie, can you just do a temporary repair until you get home to your preferred dealer?

Perhaps you could "repair" the threads by dropping some narrow strips of aluminum foil into the bolt holes, then very gently tightening the bolts.

That was the original plan until my local dealer lost his tech. Now my closest dealer to home is 3-4 hours away. Would be nice if I could get the fix done on the way back. Should only take a day to do the repair. I would rather spend extra day in route than putting on additional mileage once home.
