Broken radiator

I had a 5 mph contact on my front right bumper and it caused a puncture in my radiator. I have to replace the radiator at a cost of almost $2,000. Has anyone heard of this happening to any other R8? Until I get the pictures I'm guessing it was the support bracket. I have only two scratches on the bumper.

Get a used one for next to nothing.

There are three radiators up front (Left, Center, & Right). The bumpers protect the center radiator to some extent, but the left and right radiators are more exposed. In addition, the right side has the air conditioner condenser mounted in front of the radiator, so you picked the expensive side to damage.

Here is a photo of a disassembled V8 showing the general relationship of some of the bits and pieces. You can see that there isn't much in front of the side radiators:

It happened to me once - what a pain.
Just be glad you didn't have any contact with the hood as well since that requires replacing the whole thing!
