Getting close to the warranty end, moment of truth.

I guess April 2012 is just around the corner, and I'll be approaching the 4 year mark on the R8. Not sure if I should sell it and get a new model when it eventually comes out, or just get an extended warranty and keep it longer.

What are you guys doing if you're approaching the deadline?

I'll be there fall of next year and I'm definitely keeping the car and thinking of not getting the warranty. But I could be talked into getting the warranty. It's a tough call

Two options, extend the warranty and keep her, or sell before there is no warranty left at all. Selling with warranty is going to be easier than selling with no warranty. Imagine a catastrophic failure...could get expensive. I am on the same fence as 'Lightnin. Selling in the year 2011 rather than into 2012 could net you a few extra grand by selling in 2011. Higher mileage makes selling difficult since there are so many garage Queens out there, with hardly any miles. My four year mark is April , 2012 also.

What kind of mileage are you fellas at? I'm at 33,000 km, and definitely thinking of getting the extended warranty when I get closer to the expiry of the regular 4-year warranty (which is still over a year away).

My dealer says around $4,000 for the extended warranty.

U.S warranty ends at 4 years . I'll bet Lightnins' being offered a 5 or 6 year plan. For my car with 31K mi. 6 yr. plan costs 5360.00 u.s. A Premier maintenance plan just went into effect for post 4 yr oldcars at 1550.00 for 3 yrs.

That's probably a money saver but not as good as "Audi Care" (the first 4 yrs.)
WAS. I only paid $750 for the Audi Care maint. thru. end of factory warranty.

I paid $1,000 for Audi Care on my 2012.
