    Gearbox Malfunction

    "Gearbox malfunction" appear on my dash but still says "you may still driving the vehicle"? Anyone have this problem?

    I have had this message three times. I called the dealer the first time it happened. They said there is a duplicate sensor that MUST agree with the primary sensor or you get the message "gearbox malfunction". They ordered a part and replaced the primary sensor.

    I get that msg almost every 2 months and the car just would move and wouldnt select a gear took it to the dealer 5 times 1st and second time they just re programed the gear box 3rd they changed a sensor 4th time they changed the oil breather they said the gear box had some kind of leak ,so everytime oil level went down the gear box goes crazy they changed that and it still has the same problem , its at the dealer now for the 5th time

    You want to head to the dealership and have the codes pulled to find out what may be malfunctioning. Very hard to say what the issue might be without pulling those. If you know anyone with VCDS (Vagcom) they could quickly pull those codes for you as well.

    How frequently do u top up oil?
