My R8 has got 230 miles on it.When I come to a stop the brake squeak is pretty loud.Is that normal for this car when it is new and does it subside over time? Thanks

mine does it after I wash it. . I have 1400 on mine now but it's done it off and on since new. I have found if I heat the breaks up whith a few harder stops, it goes away, but then I have more brake dust on my wheels. not sure what the correct fix for this is yet, I was going to take it to the dealer next time I'm over that way and have a chat with them about it.
My BMW motorcycle does it too but it pretty much never goes away, the techs from BMW are just as baffled by it as I am. we've replaces pads and rotors and even calipers, and it still does it. Squeeks and squeals are generally caused by vibrations in the pad transmitting through the chassis, Aluminum seems to only amplify this effect in my experience.

Mines got 800 on and its not an issue
I had the same issue on an RS, the only was to stop it was to jet was the caliper - but this only works for so long before it returns.
Other option is for a clean up of the brakes at the dealers.
Audi have a TSB on the subject.
I have the same problem with mine, I took it to a dealer once and they said it was a problem with the caliper. The problem returned after about 1000km so I need to schedule another appointment to have them try something else. For me, the problem gets worse the more I stop and the hotter the brakes get. It's not just a slight whine/squeak you may expect from high performance brake systems... it's a full on screeching noise that wold make you think the pads need replacing or something is wrong.

I've just quickly read it and it basically says
"Clean the face of the pad with sand paper"
"Slightly chamfer edges of pad with a file"
apply plastilube moly3 high temprature grease to the various parts of the brake
I had the same problem when I first got my spyder, but it went away after a couple hundred miles. Recent cold weather in the northeast (sub 30 deg F) has brought it back, but it only squeaks momentarily before stopping. I've had the same issue when driving an SLS with nearly 9k miles on it this week, which leads me to believe that this instance of squeaking is temperature related.

I have 4300 miles on my 2011 V10 and when the temp drops below 50F my brakes squeek. Went totally away this summer, then came back late this Fall. The colder it gets, the more they squeek. It is worse with slow easy stops and rarely occurs with hard agressive brakeing even in the cold. Seems to improve after driving for a while and after several agressive stops.
I usually get noisy brakes after extended light braking during normal road driving, a trip to the racetrack for some laps usually takes care of it.
