R8 newbie. Language change help?

Hey guys,

Just picked up a 2yr old 2010 V10. Love the way it drives!! I drove an S5 for a year and thought it was awesome but wow... I'm blown away.

I have a few questions about the navi system mainly...

1. When I try to dial someone by using voice control, the language is in french so it doesn't understand me. The system is set in English everywhere else, and i tried switching it back and forth a few times... anyone know how to fix that? (change it to English)

2. My car doesn't seem to have iPhone AMI set up... it has the Aux jack in the centre, and a V12 jack in the glove box. I have a 6 disc CD changer which is not very useful to me... how do I get my iPhone set up in my car???

You need vagcom to change the language, or ask the supplying detail to correct it FOC.

If you dont have AMI, you dont really have many options. You can use a jack plug into AUX socket.
Another option is to replace the cdchanger with AMI - that will need loads of new wiring and half the car taking to bits. I tried to get my AMI out today, and gave im, too many facias needed remove. In fact the design with the hinged lid make the unit remove a total nightmare.

1. Can't help you with the language issue. If you can't find a setting in the DIS, then you probably need to visit the dealer for this one.

2. Most of us without AMI have found that converting your music to mpegs and putting them in folders on SD cards is the best solution. There are two SD Card slots behind the navi screen. Since your car is a 2010, you should be able to use SDHC cards; 2009 and earlier cannot use the HD cards, however. Search should be able to find some threads with more detail/confusion on this topic.
